Horrors of Kairos seasonal event

During the PAX Australia event, we finally got a somewhat first look at the Halloween-themed Horrors of Kairos seasonal event, along with its start and end date, the rewards and such things.

Horrors of Kairos seasonal event will go live on Thursday, October 23, at 12:00 am EDT, the usual time when new updates go out.

The event will run for two weeks, until November 6.

During the Horrors of Kairos seasonal event, world bosses will have a horror-themed environment, including weather, where it rains blood.

There are two Legendary Gear, a weapon and a Grenade Ordinance, exclusive to the Horrors of Kairos event that you can farm by defeating these world bosses.

  • “Murmur” Legendary Tediore Assault Rifle: Executes weakened enemies with guaranteed crits on targets under 35% health
  • “Skully” Legendary Order Grenade: This death-dealing grenade fires out projectiles as it seeks out the nearest target

Apart from these, we are also getting a Pumpkin Head for all Vault Hunters via SHiFT code and a Weapon Skin for all weapons, that too, via SHiFT code.

You can find more details on my Horrors of Kairos seasonal event hub page as we near its release.

How Rush Saved The Mercenary Day Bounty Pack

Borderlands 4’s first Bounty Pack is titled “How Rush Saved Mercenary Day,” and it will revolve around our favourite NPC Rush, who tries to put together a holiday celebration only to be stopped by a new villain from The Order, the Minister Screw.

Minister Screw is described as someone who doesn’t like holidays, celebrations, presents and the fact that the Vault Hunters and the other factions are still alive.

Screw will be the main boss we will be fighting in How Rush Saved Mercenary Day Bounty Pack.

So, when is the Bounty Pack releasing?

Borderlands 4 How Rush Saved Mercenary Day Bounty Pack will release on November 20, which is again, a Thursday.

Apart from the new boss and quests, here are other new content that the Bounty Pack will include:

  1. 4 Re-rollable Legendary Gear
  2. 5 Weapon Skins
  3. 4 holiday-themed Heads usable by all Vault Hunters
  4. 2 Echo-4 attachments
  5. 4 Echo-4 Drone Skins
  6. 4 Vault Hunter Skins, equippable by all Vault Hunters
  7. 4 Vehicle Skins

How Rush Saved Mercenary Day Bounty Pack will be available for Deluxe and Super Deluxe Edition owners at no extra cost, while a standalone purchase of the Bounty Pack Bundle, which includes the Bounty Pack 1, will cost you $39.99.

Update:

How Rush Saved Mercenary Day Bounty Pack 1 will include additional rewards that you can earn by playing. These are:

  • 1 New Digirunner Vehicle (available shortly after starting the first Main Mission)
  • 1 Vault Hunter Skin usable by VexRafaAmon, and Harlowe (available after beating the boss and completing the Bounty Pack’s final Main Mission)
  • 1 ECHO-4 Drone Skin (available after beating the boss and completing the Bounty Pack’s final Main Mission)

Invincible Boss 1 – Bloomreaper

The first Invincible Boss – Bloomreaper will release in December 2025 along with a new UVHM level and Legendary gear.

Bloomreaper’s arena will be located in Cliffside in the Mountains of Kairos, a new area, which we will get with the free update.

That said, the boss will have 5 dedicated drops, with one of them being the Mantra Legendary Weapon that fires Fists.

Apart from that, we will also be getting the new UVHM (Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode) Level 6, which means more challenge to test out new loot.

Grenade Launcher Legendary

In Q1 2026, Borderlands 4 will be getting its first Grenade Launcher Legendary weapon, along with the Pearlescent Rarity weapons and the Bounty Pack 2.

Talking Gun with Crazy Earl’s voice

During PAX Australia, a new talking Legendary Gun with Crazy Earl’s voice was also confirmed.

Pre-Sequel Guns

At the near-end of the show, we also got confirmation on Borderlands Pre-Sequel guns making their way into Borderlands 4 pretty soon. However, no exact release date was shared.

Photo Mode, Cross Save and Performance Update

Lastly, during PAX Australia, Randy and team also confirmed they are working on some key features and updates like Photo Mode, Cross Save and a Performance update.

When will these go live? Well! No exact dates were shared. But we can expect it soon!

Now, the Performance has been a mess for the majority of players. From crashes to irregular behaviours to unstable FPS to “NO FPS” at all. Thankfully, during the event, Randy did talk about Performance, which was great to see.

How he worded the whole thing, I am expecting they will be introducing some new settings and graphic options with nuances to the existing ones that would allow players to further customise the graphics settings to improve FPS, maybe turning off that Volumetric FOG and such things.
