If you want to spar with your buddy or have fun moments with your loved ones in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero through couch co-op, you must know whether Dragon Ball Sparking Zero features split-screen support.
Split screen is a staple feature of fighting games like Dragon Ball. Even in Budokai Tenkaichi 3, I had the most fun playing the game with my friend sitting by my side using the second controller.
The best part about couch co-op, at least for me, was watching my plus one’s face whenever I defeated them or hiding my face and closing my ears with both hands whenever I lost.
But that feeling of having fun playing Dragon Ball in split screen was not just limited to me; many other players feel the same way.
Now that we are finally getting a new installment, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, that expands on everything the Budokai Tenckaichi series had to offer while adding nuances to make the game feel more modern with improved animations, combat sequences, QTEs, and such, many players want to know whether Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will have split screen support.
Does Dragon Ball Sparking Zero supports split screen?

The answer to this question is both Yes and No! Technically, yes, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero supports split screen. BUT ONLY ON ONE MAP—the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
The above was revealed in June 2024 via the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Game Modes showcase video that I have linked below:
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is a true next-gen Dragon Ball game with a multitude of effects that are working simultaneously to provide you with a rich and engaging experience.
Even charging your Ki in the game can change the weather and affect nearby structures.
Moreover, subtle effects like using your fist to trigger a gust of wind to major ones like all the destructions taking place left and right, among other factors, make adding local couch co-op an arduous and almost impossible task for the developers due to hardware restrictions.

Now you can argue why not provide full split screen support on PC? Well! Optimizing video games on certain platforms is not as easy as crying on Reddit or such forums.
In addition, you have to remember that the publisher’s main goal is to reach more players. If adding a certain feature significantly changes the base system requirements, that is a problem.
Not every PC player rocks a high-end GPU and CPU. You can even check the Steam Hardware Survey data. You will find that a majority are still using low to mid-end GPUs.
And that is why having full split-screen support in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is nearly impossible.
That concludes my guide on whether Dragon Ball Sparking Zero features split-screen support. If the article helped, please consider buying me a Coffee to help me create more content. You can also share the guide with your friends or leave a comment.
