If you are struggling to complete the Fallout 76 Science of Love event or are stuck with finding Microscope, Autopsy Board Game, Skull, or such things to complete the Week 1 and Week 2 challenges, I’ve got you covered with my guide.
For players who don’t know, Science of Love is a time-exclusive event in Fallout 76.
It started on February 4, 2025, and is a two-week-long event slated to end on February 18, 2025.
Each of the two weeks, we get a new set of challenges that we must complete to earn rewards like the Dopamine Wallpaper, Study of Love Chalkboard, and the Pink Heart Light.
While at the get-go, the rewards might look underwhelming, they are not.
Especially for a Fallout 76 fan like me as for me and many other players, the main rewards are the challenges and how fun they are to complete.
Of course, the extra Valentine themed base building items are much welcomed rewards.
But you all get what I am trying to say!
So, with that being out of the way, here’s my complete walkthrough guide on the Fallout 76 Science of Love event.
Fallout 76 Science of Love event week 1 challenges
Here are all the challenges that Fallout 76 Science of Love event week 1 has to offer:
- Collect Nuclear Waste while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror (0/10)
- Collect a Microscope while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror (0/10)
- Collect a Human Skull or Skull part while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror (0/3)
- Collect an “Autopsy” board game while wearing a Doctor Head Mirror (0/1)
- Kill a Feral Ghoul while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror (0/10)
- Kill a Super Mutant while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror (0/10)
- Scrap Junk to produce Fiber Optics while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror (0/5)
- Science of Love: Complete Week 1 Challenges (0/5)
- Science of Love: Complete Week 1 and 2 Challenges (0/2)
Collect Nuclear Waste while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror
The best way to obtain Nuclear Waste for the event is via crafting.
You need the following items to craft 2 Nuclear Waste:
- Uranium Ore x5
- Acid x5
Once you have enough of the said materials, head to the Chemical Workbench and interact with it to open the crafting menu.
Navigate to Smelting section and craft the required amount of Nuclear Waster while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror.
How to get Uranium Ore
The best way to get Uranium Ore is by claiming a workshop like the Federal Disposal Field HZ-21 and others with Nuclear material as one of the collectible resources.
Once you arrive at the workshop, clear the enemies in the area and capture it.
Craft and put down the Nuclear resource collectors.
Once done, craft some Generators and power up the resource collectors.
It will take some time before Uranium Ore gets collected.
In the meantime, you can complete the other challenges.
After some time return to the workshop.
Put on Power Armor or a Hazmat Suit and collect the Uranium Ore from the collectors.
Collect a Microscope while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror
Microscopes are one of the most important junk items in Fallout 76 that you can find all around the game’s map.
I have shared multiple locations below, from high-level areas to low-level for new players.
Tips
You can farm Microscopes at the same location by server hopping. [Quit to main menu and join the public server again.]
Ella Ames Bunker
The Ella Ames Bunker is one of the favorite spots for farming Microscopes in Fallout 76.
Teleport there and go inside the bunker.
Once you are inside, follow the main path.
When you arrive in the room shown in the above screenshot, go to the room in the right.
You will find two Microscopes on the table.
You will three more on the metal shelve.
Once you collect 10, you will complete the challenge.
Morgantown High School
The Morgantown High School is yet another great location to farm Microscopes.
Teleport there and enter the building through the main gate.
Follow the main path.
Once you arrive at the above area, take the hallway on the left side.
In the marked room, you will find four Microscopes.
If they are not there, someone else might have taken them.
You can server hop or visit the next location.
Morgantown Airport
The Morgantown Airport is near to the Morgantown High School and is also a good spot for farming Microscope and other junk.
Head to the far end of the runway of the Morgantown Airport.
Look for the Medical Labratory building.
Go inside and you will find one Microscope on a metal shelve in the last room on the ground floor.
Another is found on a table inside the room on the right side.
The last one is on a desk on the first floor.
Silva Homestead
The Silva Homestead is not the best spot for farming Microscope but for general junk items, its a good spot.
Teleport there and head to the barn in the southeast.
Inside, you will find a Microscope and other junk like Telephone, etc.
Collect a Human Skull or Skull part while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror
Skull is a common item that you can find in all parts of Appalachia.
But the real issue is, they are very easy to miss.
That said, the best location to find enough Skull to complete the Science of Love event challenge is the Big Maw POI.
Teleport there and descend into the big hole.
In the pile of skulls, you will find Upper Skull.
A complete Skull.
An Upper Skull and many other parts.
But since you need only three Skull or Skull parts, if you collect the ones I showed, you will be able to complete the challenge.
Wendigo Cave
If you need more Skull for some reason, the Wendigo Cave is a good spot.
[There are also some Ghouls around the area and inside the cave that you can kill for the challenge.]
One Skull is on the ground right when you enter the Wendigo Cave.
You can find more as you explore.
Collect an “Autopsy” board game while wearing a Doctor Head Mirror
There are multiple locations where you can find the Autopsy Board Game.
But one of the best spots is the Whitespring Refuge.
Why?
Because, you can find a ton of Ghouls in the area required for another challenge in the Science of Love event.
Teleport to Whitespring Resort and head inside the main building.
[You can also directly teleport to Whitespring Refuge to spawn inside the building.]
Once you are inside, follow the path on the right side.
Keep going straight! Follow the path I have marked in the above screenshot.
Once again, keep going straight!
At the end of the hallway, you will find the Rec Room.
Go inside and turn right.
On the metal shelve, you will find the Autopsy Board Game.
Kill a Feral Ghoul while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror
As I said earlier, you can find a ton of Ghouls in the golf court area at The Whitespring Resort.
You can find some near and inside the Wendigo Cave.
A lot spawn outside of Vault 76.
In Morgantown and many other locations.
Kill a Super Mutant while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror
The best spot for farming Super Mutants for the event or in general is the West Tek Research Center.
Teleport there and head towards the facility.
Outside itself, you will encounter around six to eight Super Mutants.
You can find a lot more inside the building.
Scrap Junk to produce Fiber Optics while wearing the Doctor Head Mirror
Scrapping the obtained Microscope at any workbench will give you more than enough Fiber Optics requied for the Science of Love event.
How to get the Plans for Doctor Head Mirror
You can unlock the crafting plans for the Doctor Head Mirror required for the Science of Love event via the Atomic Shop.
Open the shop and head to the Apparel section.
Now, select the ‘Headwear’ tab.
In it, you will find the Doctor Head Mirror Plans that you can get for free.
How to craft the Doctor Head Mirror
You can craft the Doctor Head Mirror at any Armor Workbench.
Find one and enter the crafting menu.
Go to the Head Gear section and craft the Doctor Head Mirror using Glass and Leather.
How to equip the Doctor Head Mirror
You can equip the Doctor Head Mirror from the Apparel section of the Item menu.
