If you don’t know where to go after coming out of the bunker in Atomfall and how to progress the story, get leads, and so on, I’ve got you covered with my Atomfall progression map.
For players who don’t know, Atomfall has no categories for quests, unlike other action-adventure-survival games.
The game doesn’t tell you which quests are main and which ones are optional.
All you have is leads and the ones that lead to you to the game’s ending.
There’s little to no handholding, and you must discover everything on your own.
This aspect of Atomfall makes it more fun to play.
At the same time, for some players, it becomes a challenging experience as they are clueless about how to get and progress leads, where to go next, what to do, in which order to do things, how to reach the game’s ending, and so on.
In the wake of that, I prepared this Atomfall progression map that lays out the leads that are required for completing the game, along with other details.
All main quests in Atomfall

Here is the complete list of main Leads in Atomfall that must progress and follow to get to the game’s ending:
- Escape
- The Interchange
- Oberon
- Atomic Batteries
- Interchange – Slatten Dale Entrance
- Interchange – Wyndham Village Entrance
- A Signal Redirector
- Interchange – Skethermoor Entrance
- Interchange – Casterfell Woods Entrance
Note
This is a work-in-progress guide, and I am trying my best to piece things together. If you have any remarks and details that I missed, share them in the comments, and I will add them to the guide.
Atomfall main quests progression map

Right when you start the game, talk to the mysterious scientist.
Your goal is to get the Modified Keycard from him.
There are three ways to get it:
- Listen to him and agree on exiting the bunker and finding the Interchange.
- Help him by giving him a Bandage
- Kill him and loot it from his head body

I recommend helping him, as he leaves additional resources in key areas as you progress through the game.
Select the dialogue, “You’re bleeding! Do you need help?”
Doing so will unlock the recipe for Bandage.

After that, choose “Very well, I’ll see what I can do.”
Now, search the room in front of your room and the one on the right side.
You will find enough materials to craft a Bandage.

Craft one and give it to the scientist.

Select “Here. I have a bandage to stop the bleeding.”

After that, he will give you the Modified Keycard that you can use to access the Interchange.

It will also trigger the main Lead, Escape.

Now follow the path towards the bunker’s exit and you will get the second main lead, The Interchange.

Near the bunker exit, in the above room that you see in the screenshot, an Outlaw is on the right side and a locked room on the left.
Take out the Outlaw.

Crawl through the vent to enter the locked room.

You will find Dr. Powerl’s dead body. Loot it.
He is the doctor that the scientist was looking for.

Now, exit the bunker.

Pick up the call.

Once the call ends, you will trigger another main lead called Oberon.
Slatten Dale

Now, assuming you want to follow the main Leads, make you way to the Trading Camp to talk to Molly and obtain an Atomic Battery.
Collect some Molotovs or Painkillers while on the route as Molly prefers those items.
After that, you can head to the Interchange Slatten Dale.
Once inside, power up either Data Store Charlie or Delta and then move to Wyndham Village.
Wyndham Village

In Wyndham Village, you can acquire another Atomic Battery from the Vicar’s Chest at St. Katherine’s Church.
[More details on that are below. In the section, where to go after coming out of the bunker.]
Once you have the second Atomic Battery, head to the Wyndham Village Interchange and power up the central area.
Now use the obtained battery to power up the Data Store that you couldn’t power up previously.
Skethermoor

Now, you must obtain the Signal Redirector that you can find in the Skethermoor region.
Follow the above path and clear each of the POIs, collect all items and notes, and talk to NPCs and you will eventually get the Signal Redirector.
[I will continue to add more details to this section.]
Where to go after coming out of the Bunker in Atomfall

If your goal is to focus on main leads, follow the main mission progression map I have shared above.
If you want to experience everything the game has to offer, first, check out my guide on Atomfall’s early weapon and equipment locations.
It covers some key locations in Slatten Dale with good loot and also side quests, aka leads.
Once you are done collecting the loot using the linked guide, you will have a few optional Leads to follow.
Some are within Slatten Dale, whereas some can be progressed in other regions.
But irrespective of that, the best way to approach this is by following the below progression path:
- Come out Derelict Bunker
- You will have two main leads: Escape and The Interchange
- Right after you exit the Bunker, pick up the call to get the third main lead: Oberon
- Follow the path left of the Telephone Booth to reach a dilapidated house
- There, you will find an NPC named NAT Buckshaw
- Exhaust his dialogues and ask him about Interchange and other things
- After that, as I said, follow my early weapon locations guide as it takes you through:
- Helicopter Crash Site -> Slate Mine Caves (Make sure to talk to Reg Stansfield inside the mine to trigger the Hearing Voices side lead) -> Water Wheels -> Railyard -> Outlaws Cave.

After that, head to the Convoy Wreckage and then to the Traders’ Camp.
On the way, collect every note, loot all dead bodies, and just thoroughly go through each location.
On priority, try to collect as many Molotovs as you can.
If you don’t have enough, check out my detailed guide on where to find the Molotov Cocktail recipe in Atomfall.

You need the Molotov to trade with Molly at the Traders Camp, your next spot, to get the first Atomic Battery.
After that, you can head to the Interchange Slatten Dale location and power up either Data Store Charlie or Delta.

But I recommend going to Wyndham Village first and exploring its Interchange.
Once you have brought he central area of the Interchange live, exit the Interchange and use my guide on finding and using the Vicar’s Key to get another Atomic Battery.

Now you can head to the Slatten Dale Interchange and power up the two Data Stores using the two Atomic Batteries.
From this point onwards, your next objective should be finding more Atomic Batteries, the Signal Redirector, and each region Interchange location.
