If you are looking to craft some Strange Tonic but don’t know where to get some Spores, I’ve got you covered with my guide on how to get Spores in Atomfall.
Spores are one of the key crafting ingredients in Atomfall.
You need it for crafting the Strange Tonic required for surviving the blue infection found within Data Store Alpha and throughout the Windscale Plant and Site Oberon.
It also helps in slowing down the infection build-up and lessens the damage taken from mutated enemies, plants, and exploding animals.
Other than that, you also need it for progressing and completing one route of The Bakey quest in Wyndham Village.
In short, Spores are a much-needed resource in Atomfall that you shouldn’t miss out on.
And, since finding items in the game is a real challenge, I am here to help with my guide sharing all methods to obtain Spores in Atomfall.
How to get Spores in Atomfall

There are four different ways in which you can get Spores in the game.
These are:
- Searching the bodies of dead Thrals and mutated monsters
- Harvesting mutated plants
- Harvesting blue plants
- Bartering with Mother Jago
The first two options are not worth trying, as you will find Thrals and mutated monsters after unlocking certain areas in the game.
When it comes to obtaining Spores quickly and easily, I recommend the latter two options.

Which is harvesting the blue plants found in different areas.
Or, Bartering with Mother Jago.
Best Spores locations and farming spots in Atomfall

Here are some of the best Spore spawn locations in the game that I found during my playthrough:
- The Speaking Cave – Casterfell Woods
- The Secret Tunnel – Skethermoor
- A few are also near the Quarantine Door inside The Interchange
The Speaking Cave Casterfell Woods

You can find The Speaking Cave north of the Casterfell Woods Interchange location.
Head to the coordinates 23.0E, 85.4N, and you will find it.

Enter The Speaking Cave.

Follow the path on the right side as I have marked in the above screenshot.

Stick to the right side and you will find a tent with two Druids.
Take them out and look towards the wall.

You will find a small opening. Crawl through it.

You will arrive at a hidden location with three Spore Plants.
Each gives you a random number of Spores based on RNG.
To collect Spores, you need the Blue Fingers skill.
If you don’t know how to get it, check out my guide on how to unlock the Blue Fingers skill in Atomfall.

Collect the Spores and make your way out of the area.

Now, delve deeper into the cave until you arrive at the main area.

In the ritual area of The Speaking Cave, right behind the big effigy, you will find three more Spore Plants.

Harvest Spores from them.

Skethermoor – Secret Tunnel Spore locations

The Secret Tunnel in the Skethermoor region leads to a cave where you can find four more Spore Plants.
Head to the coordinates 36.9E, 77.4N.

Enter the Secret Tunnel.

Follow the main path until you arrive at the water body.

On the right side of the open area with water body, you will find a Spore Plant.

If you take the nearby stony stairs, you will come across more.

As you can see, there are three more Spore Plants.
Be aware as you go near; bugs start to spawn from the nearby fungus and attack you.

You can also enter the Secret Tunnel via the door behind Grendel at Grendel’s Head in Wyndham Village.

You can also access the tunnel via the Grendel’s Head Basement gate found left of the main entrance.
Bartering 10 Spores from Mother Jago

You can find Mother Jago at the Old Mine Ruins in the Casterfell Woods.
Head to the coordinates 26.7E, 92.2N.

Talk to Mother Jago and select the Barter option.
Barter the Spores in exchange for items from your inventory.
Tips: Mother Jago likes Antidoes, and thus, giving a few will let you get all 10 Spores from her.
