The Abandoned Augur Mines are one of the new activities in Borderlands 4 that you can clear to farm certain Legendaries in the game, ranging from class mods to weapons and other gear.
Clearing the Abandoned Augur Mines not only gives you access to Moxxi’s Encore Machine to farm the respective mine’s boss for their dedicated drops or general loot, but there’s also an in-game challenge attached to it.
When you clear all Abandoned Augur Mines in Borderlands 4, you complete the challenge called Dig, Delve, Discover, which rewards you with the Let’s Go To The Mall Vehicle Paintjob.
Moreover, each Abandoned Augur Mines, when cleared for the first time, rewards you with 40 SDU Tokens, great for upgrading storage.
So with that said, here’s my guide sharing every Abandoned Augur Mine’s location, the boss you find in them, and their Legendary drops.
How to unlock Abandoned Augur Mines in Borderlands 4
You can unlock the Abandoned Augur Mines by completing the main story quest Shadow of the Mountain in the Terminus Range region.
Once you do that, you will get a pop-up saying, Augur Mines Unlocked. A cue that you can now clear and farm these mines for Legendaries and SDU Tokens, etc.

In Borderlands 4, at the time of writing, we have seven Abandoned Augur Mines in the game. Two in each major region and one in Dominion, the fortified city where the Timekeeper resides.

Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening
Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening Abandoned Augur Mine is located in the Coastal Bonescape sub-region of the Fadefields region at the above marked location.
Head there and you will find a cave. Go inside, drop down and follow the main path.
The entrance to the Augur Mine is on the right side.
Voraxis Boss and its Legendary drops
The boss that you encounter in Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening Abandoned Augur Mine is Voraxis.

The Claim
The Claim Abandoned Augur Mine is the Dissected Plateau sub region of the Fadefields region at the above marked location.
Its entrance is within Zadra’s Backup Plan hub area cave.
Teleport to Zadra’s Backup Plan hub, and right as you spawn, turn left and exit through the door towards the cave.
Follow the path on the right side as I have marked in the above screenshot and you will arrive at The Claim’s entrance.

In The Claim Abandoned Augur Mine, you fight The Backhive boss.

The Embossed Fault Abandoned Augur Mine is located in the Grindstone of the Worthy sub-region of the Carcadia Burn region at the above marked location.
Head there and you will find a cave. The path is simple and straight. Follow it and you will arrive at the Embossed Fault’s entrance.
