A Drop of Hope is one of the early game side quests in Nioh 3, just like the Insatiable Hunger quest that you can complete to get Charms and, most importantly, a Ninja’s Locks, which you need for unlocking new Ninja skills.

A Drop of Hope side quest walkthrough

To start the “A Drop of Hope” side quest in Nioh 3, head to the above location in the Tenryu River area.

Once you arrive there, you will find a dead man with his ghost floating above his body, talking about some medicine.

Go and talk to him and exhaust his dialogues to trigger the quest.

Retrieve the medicine from the bandits

The first objective of the quest is to “Retrieve the medicine from the bandits.”

Open your map and you will see the search area where you can find the medicine.

Head there and you will find a small bandit camp.

To spawn the Medicine, you must kill the elite near the campfire.

Note: During my playthrough, even after I killed the nearby bandits, the medicine didn’t spawn. So, what I did was reload the area. After that, I defeat every bandit near and in the camp.

Deliver the medicine to the man’s family

Once you have the medicine, you will be tasked to deliver it to the man’s family.

You will get a search area in the Hanamatsu region. Head there.

Instead of heading towards the town that you see in the above screenshot, take a shart right from the Shrine.

You can find the man’s family at the above marked location.

Head there.

You will find a Yoki guarding the house. Defeat him.

After that, head inside.

You will find that the man’s family is already dead.

The man’s ghost will spawn. Let him finish his dialogues to end the quest.

And that is it. You will get your Ninja’s Locks and Charms. If the guide helped, please share it with others.
