Borderlands 4’s June 25 update is a major one, with some of the highlights of the update being cross-platform saves, King’s Gambit Pistol – Holy Hell projectile flying 30% slower and lasting 1.5 seconds longer, etc.

Patch Details

  • Release date: June 25, 2026
  • Platforms: PC, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X | S
  • Patch size: 5.1 GB

Today’s patch also aligns with the release of the game’s first Takedown, officially titled “Takedown at Hadron Abyss,” a free end-game content update with new boss, gear, cosmetics, and other such things.

In addition to all that, today’s update also includes paid Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For, which again adds new bosses, loot, cosmetics, a Vault Card, and other things.

Apart from the major additions and changes, we also have the usual weekly resets to Maurice’s Vending Machine’s location, the Big Encore boss, and the weekly Wildcard Mission.

So with that said, here’s a look at today’s update patch notes.

New Free Content

Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For

Zane Flynt is dead

Wait, scratch that: it’s his Digi-Clone that’s been murdered, sent to that big trash folder in the sky. Now, the actual Zane wants you to nab the scumbag who deleted his Digistructed twin. You’ll need to do some detective work in the virtual realm, warping into a pair of classic arcade machines to hunt down the culprit.

Once you’ve unlocked access to the bar, you can find the mission-starting token on any Bounty Board in a major hub area, which will be marked on your ECHO map as a new mission.

New loot unique to this new bounty pack includes:

  • 1 New Pearlescent weapon
    • Raiden (Daedalus SMG)
  • 6 New Pieces of Legendary Gear
    • Artillery Sphere (Ripper Grenade Ordnance)
    • Brickhouse (Vladof SMG)
    • Cooper Duper (Maliwan Heavy Weapon Ordnance)
    • Discy Business (Maliwan Shotgun)
    • Hard Dark (Daedalus Assault Rifle)
    • Hugger (Ripper Repkit)
  • 1 New Vehicle

How to start Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For

Bounty Pack 3 arrives in two distinct parts that you can purchase individually: the new narrative content and gear of A Zane to Kill For, and the new cosmetics and gear of Vault Card 3.

If you own Borderlands 4 Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition, or the Bounty Pack Bundle, you already own both parts of Bounty Pack 3 (A Zane to Kill For and Vault Card 3).

If you own either part of Bounty Pack 3 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, or PC via Epic, you’ll need to navigate to both of the storefront listings for these separate parts on your platform’s storefront to redeem/download the new content.

You can also attempt to start the A Zane to Kill For mission (details below), which will open a direct link to redeem/download your owned Bounty Pack 3 content on your platform. If you own either part of Bounty Pack 3 on PC via Steam, this new content will be redeemed and downloaded automatically.

Once you own the Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For narrative content, you can start the mission by interacting with the arcade token on a Bounty Board. You’ll need to finish the “Wrath of the Ripper Queen” main mission so you can visit Moxxi’s Bottoms Up! bar in Carcadia Burn. Once you’ve unlocked access to the bar, you can find the mission-starting token on any Bounty Board in a major hub area, which will be marked on your ECHO map as a new mission.

Vault Card 3: Arcade Invaders

For the raid’s final showdown, you’ll have to go toe-to-fin with the Child of Terramorphous.
