For players who don’t know, Destiny 2 got a brand new Raid called The Desert Perpetual with The Edge of Fate DLC.
And just like before, the Raid’s Contest Mode, where thousands of fireteams participate and the first one to complete the raid within 48 hours, wins the challenge to not only get unique in-game rewards, but also to inscribe their names on the leaderboards.
The Contest Mode has a few restrictions that come in the form of disabled items that many players like to learn about, along with details like which fireteam won the challenge and such.
So keep reading as I share everything you need to know about The Desert Perpetual Raid World First Race in Destiny 2.

Here is the complete list of items that were disabled during the Raid’s World First Race:
- Outbreak Perfected
- Third Iteration
- Choir of One
- Icebreaker
- Barrow Dyad
- Hierarchy of Needs
- Grand Overture
- Temporal Tracker Weapon Mod
- Temporal Blast Seasonal Weapon Mod
- Temporal Armaments Seasonal Weapon Mod
- Temporal Adapter Seasonal Weapon Mod
- Temporal Loader Seasonal Weapon Mod
- Bounty and Weapon Leveling Progression for Combatant Kills
- Devs: To give our servers some space to breathe, there will be no bounty or weapon leveling progress for combatant kills below boss tier within all versions of the raid while Contest Mode is enabled.
Note
Please note that players will not be prevented from equipping disabled Fragments or items with disabled perks, but the effects will not work when inside the raid during Contest Mode.
Destiny 2 The Desert Perpetual Raid world’s first race rewards

Players who complete The Desert Perpetual Raid while the Contest Mode is active will earn an exclusive emblem called the Timeline’s Blade.
As for any player who completes The Desert Perpetual Raid on any difficulty, like me and you, will get the following emblems that you see in the above screenshot.
Apart from that, any player who streams Destiny 2 on July 19 from 6 am – 6 pm PT will earn the Power Hues Emblem that you see below:

On the other hand, after the World First Race, gifting a Twitch sub to any eligible Twitch Channel in the Destiny 2 category, who are streaming The Desert Perpetual raid from July 19, 6 pm PT to July 29, 10 am PT, will receive the Golden Relief emblem.

Lastly, players who complete the raid will also have a chance to buy some new Bungie Rewards.

- The Desert Perpetual jacket and bag are available to players who complete it before August 29 at 9:59 am PT and have purchase them before October 7, 9:59 am PT.
- Those of you interested in The Desert Perpetual raid pin have until December 2, 9:59 am, to unlock the reward and until January 6, 2026, at 11:59 pm to complete the purchase.
