Whether you are unable to find The Outer Steppes Strangelet quest location or are unable to get your hands on Acceleron Reflux in The Edge of Fate DLC in Destiny 2, my walkthrough guide will come in handy.
The Outer Steppes Strangelet is a questline in The Edge of Fate DLC that you unlock after collecting two Strangelets.
In the quest, you are required to acquire Acceleron Reflux and then eventually the region’s Strangelet Capsule with your point of contact being an NPC named Dr. Carnahan.
While the early steps of the quest are not that hard, many players are unable to find the location from which they can start and progress the quest.
Seeing that, I prepared this detailed walkthrough covering The Outer Steppes Strangelet quest in Destiny 2.
The Edge of Fate The Outer Steppes Strangelet walkthrough – Acceleron Reflux
To start and progress The Outer Steppes Strangelet quest in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate, after acquiring the first two Strangelets, follow the quest marker to The Outer Steppes region.
Go to the above-marked location in The Outer Steppes region.
You will find a crater in the middle.
Jump and wait until Lodi finishes his dialogue.
Lodi will tell you that Dr. Carnahan and her assistant are missing.
During this time, another quest marker for the same quest will appear on the map.
Make your way towards the southeast part of The Outer Steppes.
Use the nearby Matterspark activator to go through the tunnel marked in the above screenshot.
Once you are on the other side, follow the quest marker.
You will find an elite enemy. Defeat him and let Lodi finish his dialogue.
Once done, head back to the crater from where you came.
Now, you will find two Exile generators.
The first one is right in front of the Relocator Cannon. Shoot and destroy it.
The second one is behind the rock that I have highlighted using the arrow marker in the above screenshot.
Destroy it.
Use the Relocator Cannon on the antenna past the vines to activate the portal.
Once done, take the portal.
Interact with the panel to remove the barrier.
You will arrive at an area with a ton of Exile enemies. Defeat them.
Soon! A Brig will drop down. Take him out and collect the Arc Charge it drops.
Once you have Arc Charge, head towards the barrier blocking the path.
Insert the Arc Charge in the Exile generator to overload it and remove the barrier in front of it.
Follow the path and it will lead you to a room with the Exiled Hermit boss.
Taking out the boss’s HP’s first layer, he will get a shield.
To remove it, change into Matterspark.
Charge the Pylon near the stairs to remove the barrier from the Exile generator.
Shoot and destroy the first generator.
Now, change into Matterspark once again and charge the second pylon located near the other stair.
Shoot and destroy the second Exile generator.
Now head to the platform at the other end of the room and interact with the Aionian panel.
On the right side pillar, you will find a level. Pull it down to activate the power and remove the boss’s shields.
Take out the boss.
Head to the first floor room.
Open the spawned chest.
You will get the Acceleron Reflux along with other items.
The quest will now update to Talk to Dr. Carnahan.
You can find her inside the room on the first floor.
Talk to her to progress the quest and unlock the next quest, Morphology, in the questline.
