Highlights
  • Dragon Ball Sparking Zero features 181+1 character at launch.
  • The overall roster has more than 200 characters.
  • Each character has unique stats, comes under a particular character archetype and so on.
  • DP, aka Destruction Points, also vary based on the character's ability and power level.

Whether you want to learn about the best characters to get an idea of which character you should main in the game or are looking for a character ranking to know which are good and which you should avoid using, my Dragon Ball Sparking Zero characters tier list will come in handy.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero features a gargantuan roster of playable characters—181 characters at launch.

The above number doesn’t include the pre-order bonus and characters obtained through other means.

I mean, there are more than 20 Goku, making every 1/10 character a different version of Goku.

Is that a bad thing—not at all!

Even after featuring a massive roster of playable characters, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, like its predecessors, has managed to make every character unique in terms of abilities, stats, and other such things.

In fact, now, with the new Sparking Mode and a few other gameplay mechanics in place, especially with the new character archetype system, the gameplay, and each character will feel more unique to use and handle than ever.

In the wake of that, finding the best characters to use in the game or choosing the character you should main in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is confusing.

And that is why—to help you decide, I am here with my Dragon Ball Sparking Zero tier list.

My Dragon Ball Sparking Zero characters tier list is based on the character’s stats, their DP cost (Destruction Points), how well they perform in their respective archetype, their DPS, also their defensive capabilities, and other factors.

Here’s a breakdown of the different tiers that I have used to rank the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero characters:

  • S-tier: The characters in this tier have the highest DP cost, but they are strong, in fact, the strongest, thanks to their very high stats towards Special Attack, Combo, Ki, and Attack.
  • A-tier: The characters in this tier are great and can also be used as mains. They are highly versatile, offering great DPS and survivability.
  • B-tier: The characters in this tier offer great stats and abilities that have a lot of defensive and offensive capabilities but fall short when compared to the S and A-tier characters.
  • C-tier: The characters in this tier are good and are more suitable for filling teams.
  • D-tier: The characters in this tier are good for starting out but not for PvP.
  • E-tier: Use these characters if you are highly skilled and want to show how bad your friends are.
  • F-tier: You already know which character will be in this tier. LMAO!

Disclaimer: The tier list is highly subjective and will evolve as I spend more time with the game. While it may not be perfect, it will give you a general idea of which characters are good to use.

Which character should you main in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero?

Goku Super Ultra Instinct

When it comes to main’ing a character, I recommend going for at least B-tier characters, with S and A-tier being high priorities.

To be honest, to an extent, I don’t want any player to be that hardcore about the game.

After so many years, we are getting a new entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi series. It would be great if you played the character you like the most.

Still, for players who are looking for recommendations, I will recommend Blue Gogeta, Goku Super (Super Saiyan God SSJ), or Goku (Ultra Instinct Sign). They cost a lot of DP but are worth using.

Which character will you be main’ing in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero? Let me know in the comments.

That concludes my Dragon Ball Sparking Zero characters tier list. If the article helped, please consider buying me a Coffee to help me create more content. You can also share the guide with your friends or leave a comment.
