Dying Light 2’s seasonal event, Winter Tales 2025, is finally here and with that, I am here with a complete guide covering where to find Baka and how to start the event, the various bounties, Naughty zombies, new loot and cosmetics and everything the event has to offer.
How to start the Winter Tales 2025 event in Dying Light 2
To access the Winter Tale 2025 event, make sure your game is up to date.
After that, you must start the game and click on the ‘Continue’ option, assuming you already have a save.
If you want to start a New Game, you can do that too.
In the next menu, you will get two options:
- With Event
- Without Event
Choose the ‘With Event’ option to access the seasonal events.
Once your game loads, you will be presented with the Winter Event – 2025 screen. Skip it and head to Baka to start the event.
Where to find Baka in Dying Light 2 for Winter Tales
You can find Baka at the Bazaar Safe House located in the Old Villedore region.
Head to the above player icon location.
The nearest fast travel point is the Metro: The Holy Trinity.
Baka’s Toy Shop is located outside the Bazaar’s main building within the complex.
Talk to him to access his store and bounties.
Dying Light 2 Winter Tales 2025 walkthrough
In the Winter Tale 2025 event, you must get Letters to Santa and submit them to Baka’s Mailbox, found in front of his shop.
Doing so calls a Santa’s Airdrop.
Old Uncle Snow, a Brute Zombie, protects these.
You must defeat him to collect the drop, which includes items from the gift set for this year.
The above is the main gameplay loop for this event. But there’s more!
The open world is filled with snow and with special ‘Naughty’ zombies, whom you can defeat to get certain boons.
These special zombies also drop different versions of Box Presents, decorations for the Christmas Tree by the Bazaar Safe House, and Winter Sweets that you can use at Baka’s Shop, along with other usual drops.
So here is how the entire flow of the event works:
- Grab bounties from Baka
- Complete the bounties while also defeating Naughty Zombies
- Per 1000 Reputation, you get a Letter to Santa
- Submit the letter in Bala’s Letterbox
- Head to the drop location
- Defeat all enemies or avoid them somehow
- Lockpick Santa’s drop
- Collect Santa’s Present and other rewards
Baka’s Bounties
There are two types of bounties: Normal ones and the Weekly ones.
You can activate any three bounties at a time. Progress counts only for the active bounties.
If you change a bounty in the middle, the progress done so far will be lost.
Depending on how challenging the bounty is, the more Reputation Points you get.
How to get Letters to Santa
As I mentioned earlier, you can get Letters to Santa by completing Baka’s Bounties.
Each time you hit the 1000 Reputation Mark, a Letter to Santa will get added to your inventory.
You can keep ranking up Baka to farm Letters to Santa.
How to use Letters to Santa and call Santa’s Drop in Dying Light 2
To use Letters to Santa, head back to Baka at the Bazaar Safe House and interact with the Red Letterbox found on the left side.
Once you submit a Letter to Santa, you will get a confirmation message, “Run!!! Santa’s Airdrop arrives!!! Look at the sky!!!”
The Santa’s Airdrop will appear on your compass and map. Head there.
Once you arrive there, you will find Old Uncle Snow and other zombies.
Defeat them all.
Tips: Take out the nearby enemies and then defeat Old Uncle Snow. Remember! If you die, the encounter will fail, and you will lose the items.
Collect gifts from the basket.
Lockpick the drop.
Collect Santa’s Present and other items.
Baka’s Shop and Winter Sweets
Talk to Baka to open Bounties and Vendor menu.
Navigate to the Vendor tab.
There, you will find a list of items that you can purchase using Winter Sweets, an event-exclusive currency.
How to get Winter Sweets in Dying Light 2
You can get Winter Sweets by multiple methods:
- Defeating Zombies and looting their bodies.
- Opening Gift Boxes
Whenever you defeat a zombie, it drops a certain amount of Winter Sweets. If the zombies are the ‘Naughty’ version, they drop more.
Moreover, the special the zombie, the more Winter Sweets they drop.
Winter Sweets from Present and Gift Boxes
You can get Winter Sweets from Small Box Present, Stolen Present and Santa’s Present.
Winter Tales Christmas Tree and Decorations
You can find the Christmas Tree at the above location. Head there.
It is on the roof. Next to it, you will find gift boxes.
Go near and interact with them to submit decoration bundles.
