If you are getting the Fatal Error “Game has crashed and will close” while trying to run Infinity Nikki, you are not the only one!
Infinity Nikki is a great game. There is no doubt!
But it has its fair share of issues, which the devs have been relentlessly working to fix since its release.
However, issues like Fatal Error still exist.
So, if you don’t know why you are getting the Fatal Error message while running Infinity Nikki or how to fix it, keep reading my guide.
I briefly explain the issue while talking about some possible fixes for Infinity Nikki’s Fatal error issue.
What is Infinity Nikki Fatal Error?

Infinity Nikki is an unoptimized game on PC that uses a lot more memory than required, resulting in issues like Fatal Errors and others crashing the game.

There are also instances where players have reported the game started crashing more after they updated their GPU drivers.

To put it simply, the Infinity Nikki Fatal Error occurs when your GPU memory is overused.
The error is also often followed by another error stating:
“Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource. Make sure your video card has the minimum required memory, try lowering the resolution and/or closing other applications that are running. Exiting…”
How to fix Fatal Error and game has crashed and will close issue?

You must keep trying to open the game to get past Infinity Nikki’s Fatal Error.
It takes almost two to three tries to run the game once you get the Fatal Error.
As for a permanent fix, you must have the latest update installed. So, update your game.
Other than that, here are other fixes that help players resolve further Fatal Errors and game crash issues.
Using GPU processor as preferred Graphics Processor

If you are getting a Fatal Error while running Infinity Nikki, make sure you are using the high-end GPU Processors as the Preferred Graphics Processor.
You can do this by:
Nvidia users

Right-click on the desktop and open the Nvidia Control Panel.
Navigate to Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Preferred Graphics Processor, and select High-Performance Nvidia Processor.
Once you are done, save the changes!
AMD users

Right-click on your Windows Desktop and select AMD Radeon Settings.
Select Preferences.
Choose Radeon Additional Settings.
Select Switchable Graphics Application Settings from the Power section in the left column.
Click Add Application and navigate to the application you want to add.
Click the application name, then choose Open to add it to the list.
Adjust your graphic settings to High performance.
Sufficient storage space and repair

Make sure the drive in which you have installed Infinity Nikki has sufficient storage.
While the developers recommend having at least 60 GB of free space, I recommend having slightly more free space.
That said, you can also try ‘Repair’ option to ensure none of the game files is broken.
Use a dedicated GPU to play the game
For Laptop users especially, make sure you are using the dedicated GPU to run Infinity Nikki.
Make it as default, restart the PC and run the game.
Updating GPU

While, in some cases, updating the GPU driver has resulted in more frequent Fatal Errors and crashes, in most cases, it has fixed the issue.
So, update your GPU driver to the latest version.
For some reason, if you start noticing more crashes, just revert back to the driver version your were using earlier.
