For players new to the Endless Dream Scenario, Sand of Clarity is a special Scenario exclusive item.
You need it for activating the different Nightmare Tubes to clear Nightmare Zones to get Reality Fragments and other lucrative rewards.
In short, Sand of Clarity is an essential resource and one of the key special items that you must have in abundance if you are playing the Endless Dream Scenario.
But since the game does a poor job of explaining the different methods using which you can get the Sand of Clarity, I prepared this detailed guide.

How to use Sand of Clarity in Once Human
As I mentioned earlier, you can use Sand of Clarity to activate the Nightmare Tubes found within the Dream Zones in the Endless Dream Scenario.
If you open your map, you will find blue fog zones with an eye icon with three rays.
Those are the Dream Zones.
If you hover over them, you will find how many Light Dreamers and Deep Dreamers the area offers.
The Dreamers are nothing but enemies that you can spawn by activating the Nightmare Tubes using the Sand of Clarity.
So head to any Dream Zone.
Look for the floating TVs. Those are your Nightmare Tubes.
Head to the one that is not yet activated and interact with it.
Deposit Sand of Clarity and confirm to activate the Nightmare Tube.
How to get Sand of Clarity in Once Human
There are multiple ways to get to the Sand of Clarity in Once Human. These are:
- Defeating Elite enemies within Dream Zones
- Harvesting Wakeful Clocks
- From Dream Zone Trace Box
- Riddle Spot Reward Rift
Note
Harvesting Wakeful Clocks and defeating Dream Zone Trace Boxes and collecting them are two of the best methods to farm Sand of Clarity.
Defeating Elite enemies within Dream Zones
Within the Dream Zones, you will find nuanced versions of existing elite enemies.
Defeat them and loot their drop to get Sand of Clarity.
Harvesting Wakeful Clocks
Wakeful Clocks are new structures that you can find within the Dream Zones.
As the name suggests, it is a clock but on top of a tree bark-like structure.
You must get close to it. Some of the Wakeful Clocks are hard to reach.
So, just make a platform via the build menu to get close.
Once you are close to it, interact to start harvesting the Sand of Clarity from it.
Once done, look around and you will find more Wakeful Clocks.
Harvest all of them and move to another Dream Zone.
From Dream Zone Trace Box
Dream Zone Trace Box is nothing but a nuanced version of the Morphic Crate that you can find all around the Dream Zone.
The only difference is that instead of the sensor on your backpack, you can identify a Dream Zone Trace Box via the white trail that it leaves on the ground.
As you can see in the above screenshot, it is hard to miss.
To loot the crate, you must take out the Dream Zone Trace Box.
To do that, just shoot in front of the trail and the crate will become visible.
Now, keep shooting until its HP is 0.
After that, loot the Dream Zone Trace Box to get Sand of Clarity and other items.
Riddle Spot Reward Rift
Within the Dream Zones, you can find Riddle Reward Rifts that you can interact and collect to get Sand of Clarity.
