If you have just found a singing kid named Sherma right and a locked door in front of him in Hollow Knight Silksong, you must unlock the door to continue his questline. This is where my guide comes in handy.
Sherma is a pilgrim whom you encounter for the first time right after you exit Bone Bottom.
To progress his questline, you must unlock the door in front of him and reload the area.
Once done, he will be gone.
But, how to unlock the door?
Where to find Sherma, the Singing Kid, in Hollow Knight Silksong
You can find Sherma by following the path on the right side from Bone Bottom.
Once you meet him, talk to him and exhaust his dialogues.
He will tell you that his path is beyond the door but can squeeze past it.
He will ask you to sing as he thinks that will open the door. But of course, that is not how it works.
How to open the locked door near Sherma in Hollow Knight Silksong
To open the locked door near the singing kid Sherma, from his location, take a left and follow the path until you find a path leading upwards.
Jump on the platform above and keep ascending.
Once you reach the top, follow the path on the right side.
Jump on the floating platform that you see in the above screenshot, and then, the one in front of it.
Keep ascending.
Stick to the path on the right side.
Soon you will reach the above location. Drop down.
On the right side, the area I have marked with a rectangular box, you will find a wall that you can break.
It leads to a secret room with Rosaries that you can collect to buy items from the NPC vendor at Bone Bottom.
The room is dark, and there are three falling rocks. So be quick.
Once you have collected the Rosaries, head back and follow the path on the left side.
Drop down the hole.
You will arrive at the room that you see in the above screenshot.
There’s an encounter with multiple bugs. Take them out.
Once you do that, the two areas I have marked will break, and the paths will open.
Drop down the hole.
On your left, you will find the switch. Jump and attack to activate.
That is it.
