If you are running out of precious items or gold and want a little shortcut without compromising your achievements by using console commands, you must know how to perform the dupe glitch to get infinite gold and items in Oblivion Remastered.
An Elder Scrolls game without any glitches is not a true Elder Scrolls. Especially, the good old Oblivion.
There are multiple glitches in Oblivion Remastered that players can do to make their experience a lot easier.
From duplicating items to using them to obtain infinite gold to level farming, there are quite a few handy glitches in the game.
Among these, the item dupe glitch is one of my favorites.
Why?
Because not only does it allow me to increase the quantity of any item that I am running out of, it also allows me to hoard rare items and sell as many as I want for infinite Gold.
Usually, for infinite money or items, players mostly rely on using console commands.
But there are two major issues with that:
- First, you are locked out of achievements
- Second, console players can’t use the console commands
That is why, I prepared this detailed step-by-step guide on how to perform dupe glitches in Oblivion Remastered.
How to perform duplicate item glitch in Oblivion Remastered
To perform the dupe glitch in the game, all you need is a storage container and an item with a high quantity to make the dupe process fast (like arrows).
You can find containers all around the game world.
You can use any, except for the ones that appear red and belong to NPCs.
While you can use the red ones too for dupes, every time I tried to dupe items and collect them, my game crashed and I got ‘Fatal Error.’
Once you find the container, open it and select the ‘Search’ option at the bottom to open the ‘Storage’ menu.
Now, find the item that you have in high number.
For example: I had 163 Iron Arrows as you can see in the above screenshot. So I chose that for the dupe process.
This is the most crucial part:
- On PC
- Press and hold the Shift key and then select the items that you have in high number.
- Once the ‘How many?’ slider appears, click on ‘Continue’ and leave the Shift key. Make sure you have it pressed until you hit the Continue button.
- On PlayStation
- Press and hold the R1 button until you have pressed Continue.
- On Xbox
- Press and hold the RB button until you have pressed Continue.
If done correctly, the item you selected will not be stored.
That is your cue. Now, click on the item that you want to dupe.
I tried it with the Petty Soul Gem.
When you select it, it will get stored and the quantity will be equal to the item that you were trying to store in the first place. (Arrows in my case.)
You can keep repeating this process as long as you want.
To dupe the same item again, you can move one unit of the item back to your inventory and repeat the steps.

How to get infinite Gold in Oblivion Remastered
To get infinite Gold in the game, all you have to do is use the dupe glitch near an NPC vendor and then sell the items to the vendor.
I recommend teleporting to the Imperial City Market District.
Once you spawn, stick to the left side and you will find NPC shops and a ton of wooden barrels and crates that you can use for the dupe glitch.
Perform the dupe glitch as much as you want using the steps I shared earlier.
Once done, head inside any of the NPC shops.
Talk to the vendor.
Select the Barter option found at the bottom left side of the screen.
In the Barter menu, you can check the upper cap of the amount you can sell your items for in one go.

Keep in mind! While vendors have infinite Gold, you can only sell items to them in batches where the total sell amount is less than their Gold cap.
For example, the Petty Soul Gem that I was selling is 18 Gold for one unit.
The vendor’s Gold cap is 1000.
So, 1000/18 -> 55.55555.
So, in one go, I can only sell him 55 Petty Soul Gem as 55 x 18 -> 990 Gold, which is less than the 1000 Gold cap.
For infinite Gold, keep selling the items in batches and you will have more gold than the dead Uriel and his bastard.
