Whether you are looking for the best PvE or PvP starter classes or want to know about the best sub-class, my Odin: Valhalla Rising class and sub-class tier list covers it all.
As you may already know, Odin: Valhalla Rising is a seamless MMORPG inspired by the Norse mytholody.
Like any other MMO, the game features a variety of classes and sub-classes with some massive nuances and mechanics that I have not seen in many games of the same genre.
While veterans are good at testing out all the classes and choosing the best that suits their playstyle and needs, not everyone can do the same.
We have regular players and the ones, who have work and other things and cannot spend much time figuring out every class and sub class.
For those players, tier lists are a good way to know which class they can play as.
Seeing that, I prepared my tier list for Odin: Valhalla Rising for PvE and PvP content that I have shared below while also discussing all the classes and sub-classes.
All classes and sub-classes in Odin Valhalla Rising

At the time of writing, Odin: Valhalla Rising’s global version features four classes.
Each class have two sub classes that you can switch through the Avatar menu after unlocking it by simply progressing through the game.
The Avatars not only change the look of your character and allow you to use the sub-classes, but they also govern over the different stats and values.

There are different rarity of Avatars for the four classes.
The higher the rarity, the better they are.
I will be covering a more detailed guide on Avatars on The Based Otaku as it is the core mechanic of the game that needs a lot more detailed explanation on.
That said, let us check out all the classes and sub-classes in the game before we move to the tier list.
Sorceress
Archmage

The Archmage is a DPS class character that comes with power spells that specialize in AoE and Burst DMG.
Her attacks use a lot of mana and thus require, proper management.
But even its counterpart, the Dark Mage, is the same and has attacks that consume a lot of mana.
Dark Wizard

The Dark Wizard is a great sub-class when it comes to controlling the battlefield.
Thanks to her skills focused on summoning, crowd control, debuffs, etc.
The above pros are also one of the reasons why Dark Wizard is a lot better in PvP.
Rogue
Assassin

The Assassin is a single-target DPS class with abilities focused around pure offense, where to get close and release a barrage of attacks to deal massive DMG.
Also, similar to Assassin class in other MMOs, while DPS is top notch, the defense is not great.
That being said, thanks to the high DPS physical attacks, it is one of the classes that excels in PvP more than PvE.
Sniper

The Sniper is a Ranged DPS class and one of my personal favorites.
She has abilities and attacks that can deal serious damage more consistently.
She is good at sustaining. Easy to progress and a lot friendly for free-to-play players as even her regular Avatars are good.
Warrior
Defender

The Defender is a sub-class whose name itself gives away its pros and cons.
It is a Tank class with melee-based attacks and skills with high defense.
The Defender is a great class if you prefer playing in a team as you can take the aggro while the DPS shred the enemy.
A good thing that I personally like about the sub-class is that grouping enemies together is a lot easier with the Defender.
Berserker

The Berserker, not Khazan. Sad.
It is a sub-class that fits the saying, “Jack of all trades master of none.”
The Berserker is good at offense and defense but falls behind Rogue and Sorceress when it comes to raw DPS.
Moreover, when we compare raw defense, the Defender is a far better option.
But for players, who are looking for a middle ground, a sub-class with good damage, defense, and the ability to crowd control, you can definitely go for the Berserker class.
Priest
Saint

The Saint is a sub class that specializes by moral support to the team with her looks.
Just kidding!
She specializes in buffs, reviving allies, healing, helping the team with her wide range of support skills.
Paladin

The Paladin is a mix of healer, support, and defensive sub-class.
Great for players who like to play the support role but aren’t afraid of getting into the battle.
One of the best things I like about the Paladin class is that it can self-sustain and has high survivability, very good for players who don’t have friends.
I mean, the loners, the solos (Like me).

Secondly, tier lists are highly subjective and no matter how much I want it to be general, it will always vary player to player basis.
And, sometimes, activity to an activity basis.
But still, I have tried and will also be updating and making changes to the rankings as I play the game.
With all that being out of the way, here’s the tier list:
| Tier | Classes and Sub-Classes |
| S | Sniper, Archmage |
| A | Assassin, Paladin |
| B | Berserker, Dark Wizard, Saint |
| C | Defender |
