Whether you are looking for the access pass from the Ministry of Accuracy or want to know where to find Automech Parts in The Outer Worlds 2, my The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals quest walkthrough covers it all.

The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals is one of The Protectorate faction quests that you can complete to restore the Westport settlement.

In this quest, players are tasked with finding Automech Parts at the Protectorate Automech Repair Facility.

However, to get inside the facility by official means, you need an access pass that you can get from the Ministry of Accuracy.

And if you do manage to find the pass, some players get stuck at finding the Automech Parts itself, even after getting into the Automech Repair Center.

This is where my walkthrough for The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals quest comes in handy.

The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals side quest walkthrough

The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals side quest offers three major objectives:

  1. Locate Replacement Automech Parts
  2. Search Delphinia’s Lab for Automech Parts
  3. Return to Vigilant Hogarth

You don’t have to pay attention to the exact objectives, as there are multiple ways to tackle the quest.

For the easy path, just focus on getting the access pass and the quest path that I have shared below.

You can also directly head to the Automech Parts directly.

How to get the Automech Repair Center access pass from the Ministry of Accuracy in The Outer Worlds 2

Normally, if you do the side quests in order, you would already have the Automech Repair Center access pass as you get it while completing the side quest, A Refreshing Bit of News.

But if you don’t, just head to the Ministry of Accuracy located at the above highlighted location.

Once you arrive there, make your way inside the main building.

Use the ladder and then do a little platforming to reach the other side of the room with a computer.

Interact with it and exhaust all the options and you will get the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center Access Pass.

The Outer Worlds 2 Locate Automech Replacement Parts

After you acquire the access pass, head to the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center.

It is located in the southeast part of the map at the above marked location.

Go to the main gate and you will be stopped by the Sub-Mechanist Cade Tierney.

Show him your access pass to get easy access to the facility.

Head to the main area and you will find Marshal Donelson and Chief Mechanist Woodrow Contos arguing about something.

Exhaust their dialogues.

The Marshal will tell you to talk to the Arc Quartermaster for details on Automech Parts.

Head to the Qaurtermaster.

Talk to her and exhaust her dialogues.

She will tell you that a bunch of supplies went missing right around the time the quartermech completed a routine inventory.

Head to the player icon location as shown in the above screenshot.

Interact with the Lab Notes on the table to find details on the disappearance of the Automech Parts.

Talk to Chief Deviser and exhaust her dialogues. Doing so will give you the hint to the Automech Parts location while also triggering another side quest called An Aegis Against The Miasma.

Now, head outside the building and on the right side of the exit, you will find a broken bot. Examine it.

After that, near the bot, use the structures to scale the building.

Make your way to the roof.

There, you will find the Automech Replacement Parts. Collect it.

For reference, the parts are located at the player icon location shown in the above screenshot.

Now return to Vigilant Hogarth in Westport and talk to him.

Submit the Automechanical Parts, and he will tell you about Boots that allow you to double jump while sharing details on an additional path that you can take to reach the Vox Relay.

And that is it.
