If you want the best optimal graphics settings for The Witcher 3 Remastered to get high FPS without losing picture quality and overall graphical fidelity, I’ve got you covered with this guide.
The Witcher 3 Remastered is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
On PC, the game has new system requirements; as expected, the visual upgrade requires slightly better hardware.
But to my surprise, the game still runs quite well on older hardware with the right graphics settings. So I’ve put together a set of settings without losing graphics quality in The Witcher 3 Remastered.
The best graphics settings for The Witcher 3 Remastered for players with old hardware

The first setting that you want to change is Ray Tracing. If you have an RTX 3070 or equivalent, I recommend keeping it ON.
Otherwise, you can turn it OFF for a massive FPS boost. However, it will significantly affect the visuals.
For this guide, I will share the settings assuming you have an RTX 3070 or equivalent graphics card.
- Ray Tracing: ON
- Path Tracing: OFF
- Ray Traced Global Illumination: Performance
- Ray Traced Reflections: ON
- Ray Traced Shadows: Performance
- Ray Traced Ambient Occlusion: OFF

- Anti-Aliasing: DLSS [For AMD, use the equivalent.]
- DLSS Quality: Quality
- DLSS Ray Reconstruction: ON

- NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency: On + Boost
Note: If you prefer more FPS than visual fidelity and have an older card, I recommend turning on FSR, then the AMD FSR Frame Generation setting.
It gives a massive FPS boost, though the visuals look slightly blurrier.

- NVIDIA Hairworks: OFF

- Sharpening: OFF
- Screen Space Ambient Occlusion: GTAO
- GTAO Quality: High
- Motion Blur: OFF
- Blur: OFF
- Bloom: ON
- Depth of Field: ON

- Chromatic Aberration: ON
- Vignetting: ON
- Light Shafts: ON
- Camera Lens Effects: ON

- Number of Background Characters: Ultra+ [Reduce if you face lag in cities]
- Screen Space Shadows: Ultra+
- Terrain Quality: Ultra+
- Water Quality: Ultra+
- Foliage Visibility Range: Ultra+
- Grass Density: Ultra+
- Texture Quality: Ultra+
- Detail Level: Ultra+
In the latter parts of the game, when you are visiting the major cities, you must turn down a few settings from Ultra+ to High. In the early game and most of the time, Ultra+ will work fine.
That sums up my guide on the best graphics settings for high FPS and better visual quality in The Witcher 3 Remastered.
