What is the max level cap in Oblivion Remastered? And how does the new leveling system work in the game?
These are a few progression-related questions that many players have ever since Oblivion Remastered shadow dropped on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
Along with the graphical overhaul and gameplay changes, there are also a few mechanics, like leveling up, that have been changed.
In the wake of that, both old and new players are totally confused.
If you are also wondering what is the max level in Oblivion Remastered, I’ve got you covered with this guide.
Oblivion Remastered max level

At the time of writing this guide, the max level in Oblivion Remastered is level 80.
You can achieve this by leveling up all eight attributes, namely Strength, Willpower, Intelligence, Agility, Speed, Endurance, Personality, and Luck.
This is where things get a little confusing.
Technically, leveling up all the eight attributes to the max level, which is 100, gets your character level to 80.
After that, you can’t level up as you get the message, “Perfection cannot be improved upon. Your attributes are as high as they can go.”
But tweaking with console commands, resetting levels and re-distributing points into the attributes can allow you to get past the level 80 barrier.

On the same note, we have old Oblivion mods ported to the Oblivion Remastered that can set your attributes and player level to 100.
And that is why, there’s a lot of confusion in the community.
So, I recommend taking the attribute levels as the general parameter for character progression while playing Oblivion Remastered, rather than worrying about the player level.
How does the level-up system work in Oblivion Remastered?

The level-up system in Oblivion Remastered is a mix of previous games. To level up your player level, you must increase your mastery in skills like Stealth, Magic, etc.
The game has major and minor skills that players can level up by simply using them.
Whenever they hit a new mastery level, there is a certain XP that they earn towards the player level.

Once they have enough XP to move to the next player level, they can sleep to level up and get 12 Virtue Points.

Players can then use the Virtue Points to level up their attributes like:
- Strength
- Willpower
- Intelligence
- Agility
- Speed
- Endurance
- Personality
- Luck
