On August 18, 2025, Hritwik Raj, the founder of The Based Otaku, our lovely website that focuses on covering in-depth videogame guides, walkthroughs, how-tos, and similar categories, launched a brand-new independent publication called The Profaned Geek.
While The Based Otaku is a more guides-oriented publication aimed to provide high-quality 100% original videogame guides based on our own experience and time with any game, The Profaned Geek focuses more on covering the Otaku and Pop Culture, while also focusing on the broader aspect of the gaming industry.
At The Profaned Geek, we bring you the latest updates on anime, manga, manhwa, movies, TV series, and pop culture, along with originals like opinions, recommendations, interviews, and other content.
While Gaming will still be a main category for The Profaned Geek, the focus is more on news, reviews, previews, and to-the-point guides, unlike what we have here at The Based Otaku.
