Movement and mobility in the Borderlands games have evolved over the years, and Borderlands 4, the latest entry in the franchise, offers the best movement mechanics to date.

Thanks to the introduction of mechanics like double jump, glide pack and a few others, the game not only offers more mobility options compared to its predecessors, it also gives players to opportunity to evolve these mechanics through in-game tweaks, glitches, momentum and physics, etc.

To keep track of all the movement techniques discovered by the Borderlands community for Borderlands 4 and to ensure every player is able to use them to have fun and improve their runs, I prepared this hub page. I hope it comes in handy!

Borderlands 4 Advance Movement Mechanics (5)

Here is the complete list of advanced movement techniques in the game:

  • Super Jump
  • Super Dash
  • Super Dash Extended
  • Super Glide /w strafing

Note

I will be updating the above list with new movement techniques as they are discovered. I will also update the hub page with my findings.

How to perform Super Jump in Borderlands 4

To perform a super jump in Borderlands 4, you must have the exploding canister that you see in the above screenshot.

Thankfully, you can find these all around Kairos and at every major and minor locations.

Once you have the exploding canister, place it on the ground.

Now, to perform the super jump, you must be facing the canister from the side.

After you have aligned yourself, perform a jump. And, right when you are about to hit the ground, perform a Dash.

If you do it correctly, it will launch you vertically with slight horizontal momentum.

Here’s a video showcasing the super jump:

To sum things up:

  1. Find an exploding canister and place it on the ground.
  2. Align yourself towards any of the two sides of the canister [Make sure you are not standing too far from the canister.]
  3. Perform a jump, and right before hitting the ground, press the Dash key.

How to perform Super Dash in Borderlands 4

To perform Super Dash in Borderlands 4, you must press the Directional key + Jump key + Dash key. All three at the same time.

On PC, you can assign a particular key for the ‘Move Forward’ action and ‘Sprint/Dash’ actions to perform the Super Dash more consistently with ease.

For example, I use the Mouse 2 button found on the left side of the Razor Basilisk mouse and others.

How to perform Super Dash Extended in Borderlands 4

Super Dash Extended is a movement that I found out while messing around with the Super Dash.

To perform it, perform a Super Dash, and right when you hit the ground, press the Forward key + the Jump key.

Doing so will launch you forward with the same momentum. To continue, when you hit the ground for the second time, perform the Super Dash again (Forward key + Jump key + Dash key).

If you time them correctly, you can keep repeating the above steps to do Super Dash nonstop.

To sum things up, here’s what you have to do:

  1. Perform Super Dash. (Forward key + Jump key + Dash key)
  2. As soon as you hit the ground, press the Forward key + the Jump key
  3. After that, as soon as you hit the ground, perform Super Jump again (Forward key + Jump key + Dash key)
  4. Repeat from steps 1 to 3 to continue Super Dash

In the above video showcase, in the first Extended Super Dash, after step 2, I pressed the Forward + Jump key again, costing me the momentum.

But in the second showcase in the same video, you can see, instead of Forward + Jump, I performed a Super Dash right when I hit the ground, which allowed me to keep the momentum and repeat the same steps again.

How to perform Super Glide /w strafing in Borderlands 4

Super Glide is an easy-to-perform movement technique in Borderlands 4. To do it, perform a Super Dash (Forward key + Jump key + Dash key) and right after that, Press and Hold the Forward key + Jump key.

You can also use strafing to change the direction in which you are gliding.

To do it, all you have to do is perform a Super Glide, and while you are holding the Forward Key + Jump Key to glide, slowly move your mouse or directional sticks towards left or right while also pressing the same direction movement key.

For example, in the above video, I wanted to reach the building that was on my left. So, here is what I pressed.

  1. Performed Super Dash (Forward key + Jump key + Dash key)
  2. For Super Glide, pressed and held the Forward + Jump keys
  3. To reach the building on the left, I move my mouse towards the left while also holding the ‘A’ key on my keyboard. In short, after the Super Dash, I pressed and held:
    • W + A + Jump (Spacebar) while moving my mouse towards the left
