Ripper Drill Sites are locations in Borderlands 4 where, after a small skirmish, you fight a boss that drops Legendaries, including dedicated drops and general ones.
It is one of the many new activities in the game that you are supposed to farm for SDU Tokens, in-game achievements, and challenges (Ruler of Everything), and mainly to obtain Legendary weapons and other gear to min-max your build.
At the same time, some of these Ripper Drill Sites are associated with the UVHM challenges that you must tackle to unlock the Wildcard Missions that eventually ascend you to a higher UVHM Rank.
Long story short, you must know about these Ripper Drill Sites, the bosses you fight at each respective site, and the different Legendary drops they offer.
How to unlock Ripper Drill Sites in Borderlands 4
Unlike the Abandoned Augur Mines and Order Bunkers, there’s no quest requirement for doing the Ripper Drill Sites.
However, since you get access to the open world after completing the main quest, Recruitment Drive, you can sort of think of it as a requirement for doing Ripper Drill Sites.

At The Pitted Stain Ripper Drill Site, you fight three bosses at once. These are:

- Frank the Furnace
- Hank the Weilder

Head there and you will find the entrance to the Ripper Drill Site through a giant beast’s skull.
At the Tendercage Ripper Drill Site, you fight two bosses. These are:
