If you are also tired of the orange tint, bloom effect that can literally blind you and other such graphical effects in RuneScape Dragonwilds, I’ve got a fix for you.
Ever since RuneScape Dragonwilds’s early access was shadow dropped, I’ve been playing the game non-stop and covering side quest walkthroughs and other guides.
And during that, I noticed that the excessive bloom, motion blur and the orange tint along with other graphical effects are just way to excessive.
They are not balanced at all. At least for now.
Moreover, since there is no detailed video settings currently available in the game, turning these graphical effects off or adjusting them is just not possible through in-game.
But, as always, you can manually do it by altering the game’s Engine file.
So, all of you who are struggling with the different graphical effects in RuneScape Dragonwilds, here’s my guide on fixing it.
How to fix excessive graphical effects in RuneScape Dragonwilds

You can fix the excessive graphical effects issue in the game by manually editing the Engine.INI file and setting the attribute values to 0 or 1 based on your requirement.
As I mentioned earlier, currently, RuneScape Dragonwilds doesn’t offer detail video quality settings menu where you can make changes.
So, head to the following path:
C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\Config\Windows
Note
If you are on Steam Deck, here's the path where you will find the Engine.INI file: /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1374490/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/RSDragonwilds/Saved/Config/Windows

Once you are there, select and open the Engine file using any text editor.
Note
You can create a copy of the file just in case you mess things up.
For example, you can use Notepad, Notepad++ or any that you prefer.
After that, you must add the following code at the bottom of the file:
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.LumenScene.SurfaceCache.AtlasSize=4096
r.Upscale.Quality=0
r.Upscale.Softness=0
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=0.5
r.TextureStreaming=0
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.BloomQuality=0
r.FilmGrain=0
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.DisableDistortion=1
r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
r.LensFlareQuality=0
r.Fog=0
r.VolumetricFog=0
r.MotionBlur=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.MotionBlur.Max=0
r.MotionBlurSeparable=0
r.MotionBlur.Amount=0
After that, save the file, set it to read only and start the game.
Doing so, you can manually diasable graphical effects like motion blur, fog, film grain, etc.
If you want to keep motion blur or any other setting and only want to disable a few, just remove their code from the file and you will be good to go.
To fix orange tint issue in particular, try this:
Add “-dx11” in Launch Options field in Steam > Library > RuneScape Dragonwilds > Properties.

If you are confused about any step, keep reading as I have shared every single step below with screenshots.
Step-by-step guide on editing locating and editing Engine.INI file in RuneScape Dragonwilds

First, click on the ‘This PC’ icon on your desktop to open My Computer.

Now, click and open Local Disk C.

Navigate to the ‘Users’ folder and open it.

Now, select and open the folder with your PC’s username.
For example, mine is just ‘pc.’

After that, select and open the AppData folder.
If you don’t find it, click on ‘View’ button in the toolbar, select ‘Show’ and then, ‘Hidden Items.’
Doing so, you will be able to view all hidden folders, including AppData.

Inside AppData, select and open the ‘Local’ folder.

After that, scroll through the files and open the ‘RSDragonwilds’ folder.

Go to the ‘Saved’ folder.

Select and open ‘Config’ folder.

Inside it, you will find ‘Windows’ and one another folder.
You have to open the Windows folder.

Inside the Windows folder, you will find the ‘Engine’ file as you can see in the above screenshot.
Right click on it and open it using Notepad or any other text editor.

Scroll to the bottom of the Engine file and past the code that I shared earlier.
Note: If the below code already exists, just copy the remaining lines and paste them.
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.LumenScene.SurfaceCache.AtlasSize=4096

Save and exit the file. After that, perform a right click and select ‘Properties.’

Click the check box next to ‘Read-only’ attribute and ‘Apply.’
Now open the game!
