Don’t know how to get Chaliceweed in Monster Hunter Wilds? Don’t worry! I’ve got you covered with my Monster Hunter Wilds Chaliceweed location and best farming spot guide.

Chaliceweed is a rare item in the game that you can use to trade for items with Rove.

It is a very hard to get item with no details on how exactly you can obtain it.

As a result, when players unlock Rove as an NPC vendor and try to trade, they are unable to do so.

And since there are high rarity crafting and other items that you can get from Rove in exchange for Chaliceweed, missing out on it is not simply not recommended.

So, keep reading my guide as I explain how exactly you can get Chaliceweed while sharing other related details.

How to get Chaliceweed in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can get Chaliceweed as a random drop from fishing Gastronome Tuna.

Alternatively, you can also obtain it as a rare drop from the Glass Algae found in the Scarlet Forest area.

The Gastronome Tuna in itself is a rare fish.

It is not only hard to catch but also has particular spawn criteria.

To easily catch the Gastronome Tuna, you must use Tuff Joint Bait.

Without it, attracting the fish to catch the hook is very hard.

But still, even without the said bait, you can hook in the Gastronome Tuna.

As you can see in the above screenshot, I caught one without using the Tuff Joint Bait.

Gastronome Tuna all drops

When you catch the Gastronome Tuna, you have a chance to get:

  • Ancient Wyvern Coin
  • Sushifish Scale
  • Whetfish Fin
  • Chaliceweed
  • Royal Sea Pot
  • Sparkly Treasure
  • Fine Scarlet Amber
  • Truffle Du Conga

Monster Hunter Wilds Gastronome Tuna spawn location

You can find the Gastronome Tuna in the river found in Area 17 in the Scarlet Forest region.

I have marked their spawn locations on the above map screenshot.

The nearest Pop-Up camp from its location is the Area 17: Great Lake Shore.

Head to the marked location and look for white puddles in the water.

Also, ensure Harpios are flying over it.

If you don’t see a white puddle, it means the Gastronome Tuna has not spawned.

Monster Hunter Wilds Gastronome Tuna spawn criteria: season and time

During my playthrough, I was able to spawn the Gastronome Tuna only during the Inclemency Season at Evening and Nighttime.

During the Inclemency Season, you will encounter a Downpour in the Scarlet Forest.

Every time it happened, I was able to consistently get white puddles at the Great Lake Shore.

Where to use Chaliceweed in Monster Hunter Wilds

As I mentioned earlier, you can use Chaliceweed to trade with Rove.

Rove’s inventory depends on the current Season.

That aside, there are five items that you can get by trading Chaliceweed with Rove.

These are:

  • Chaliceweed x1 -> Whetfish Fin x1 [2]
  • Chaliceweed x1 -> Truffle du Conga x3 [2]
  • Chaliceweed x1 -> Blango Pelt+ x2 [2]
  • Chaliceweed x1 -> Monster Broth x2 [2]
  • Chaliceweed x1 -> Ancient Wyvern Coin x1 [2]

Rove

You can find Rove at his cozy abode in Iceshard Cliffs Area 20 Ancient Room.

Head there and talk to Rove.

Use the obtained Chaliceweed to get any of the five items that you want.

[Remember, Rove’s inventory changes based on the current Season]

Nata

If Rove is not present at his location or you just don’t want to head to Area 20, you can also access his inventory directly from your Base Camp.

Through Nata.

Talk to Nata and select the “Item Trade” option.

Once done, select Rove from the menu to access his inventory.

That is everything you need to know about how to get and use Chaliceweed in Monster Hunter Wilds. If the article helped, please consider buying me a Coffee to help me make more content. You can also share the guide with your friends or leave a comment.
