Greetings Hunter! Are you wondering where to farm Fossilized Fire Opal in Monster Hunter Wilds?
If so, you’re in the right place.Â
Fossilized Fire Opal is one of the rare special items in MH Wilds.
You can exchange them for a multitude of valuable materials and food ingredients.Â
However, like other special items in the game, it’s hard to find Fossilized Fire Opal because they are not necessarily marked on the map.Â
Hence, in this guide, I pinpoint some of the best farming spots for Fossilized Fire Opal that I have found so far in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Where to find Fossilized Fire Opal in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can find Fossilized Fire Opal in the Oilwell Basin.Â
If you have explored the Oilwell Basin, you already know there’s a massive fiery forge in the area.Â
Do you know what else has ‘fire’ in its name? Yes, you guessed it – Fossilized Fire Opal.Â
In the Oilwell Basin, look for Exquisite Fossil. It has a golden question mark icon on the map.Â
Unfortunately, unlike Wyvernscale Vase, there’s not one spot where you can pick multiple Fossilized Fire Opal in this region.Â
The Exquisite Fossil near the waterfall in area 13 is always Fossilized Fire Opal and is my go-to spot to gather this special item.Â
Since special items respawn every 15 minutes, you can use it to slowly but steadily farm a decent amount of Fossilized Fire Opal.Â

You can also farm this special item in areas 14 and 15 of Windward Plains.Â
There are three Exquisite Fossil in this vicinity, though they don’t always spawn Fossilized Fire Opal.
Most of the time, you will get Fossilized Opal from extracting these Exquisite Fossils.
I recommend checking these areas when the season is Plenty, as that’s when Fire Fossilized Opal seems to spawn the most.
Where to trade Fossilized Fire Opal in Monster Hunter Wilds?

You can trade Fossilized Fire Opal with Ren in the Slid, The Keeper’s Vigil in Wyveria.Â
Please note that you won’t gain access to this area and Ren the Trader until you have finished the main quest in Chapter 3-1, The Faithful Keepers.Â
You can trade Fossilized Fire Opal for Eastern Honey and Vespoid Shell.Â

Eastern Honey is a special food ingredient that can increase the amount of health recovered from healing.Â
Hence, it’s best to always add Eastern Honey to your meal, especially when you’re heading out to tackle a challenging monster.
That is everything you need to know about how to get and use Fossilized Fire Opal in Monster Hunter Wilds. If the article helped, please consider buying me a Coffee to help me make more content. You can also share the guide with your friends or leave a comment.
