As you may already know, Gobletweed is one of the items in the game that you can use to trade with Rove.
Based on the Season, you can use it to get Ancient Wyvern Coin, Spider Web, or Comaqchi Shells.
And while the latter two items are easy to get, many players look for Gobletweed to get their hands on the Ancient Wyvern Coin.
They can use it at the Wudwud hideout to trade with Gawdygog to get Armor Sphere and other high-quality items.
So, missing out on the Gobletweed is not a question!
With that said, here’s my guide on how to get and use Gobletweed in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to get Gobletweed in Monster Hunter Wilds
You can get Gobletweed by harvesting Glass Algae that grows underwater.
When you harvest a Glass Algae, there’s a 100% chance that you will get Gobletweed, irrespective of the season, time, or weather.
How to use Gobletweed in Monster Hunter Wilds
As I mentioned earlier, you can use Gobletweed to trade with Rove.
Based on the Season you are currently in, Rove will have different inventory.
That said, there are a total of three items that you can get from Rove in exchange for Gobletweed.
These are:
- Comaqchi Shell x2 (4)
- Spider Web x5 (4)
- Ancient Wyvern Coin x1 (4)
Rove
You can find Rove at his usual spot in Iceshard Cliffs Area 20 Ancient Room.
Head there and talk to Rove.
Use the obtained Gobletweed to get Ancient Wyvern Coin and other items.
Nata
If Rove is not present at his location or you just don’t want to head to Area 20, you can also access his inventory directly from your Base Camp.
Through Nata.
Who becomes the Village Intermediary after you complete the game’s main story.
Talk to Nata and select the “Item Trade” option.
Once done, select Rove from the menu to access his inventory.
Monster Hunter Wilds Glass Algae locations
Here are the Glass Algae spawn locations that I found in the game:
Area 6 – Pond
The Area 6 Pond holds three Glass Algae, from which you can get three Gobletweed.
Head to the marked location.
There’s also a Pop-up Camp that you can set and directly fast travel to.
Once you arrive at the location, near the exit point, you will find the pond.
Go near it, and you will get the option to “Dive In.”
Dive underwater and collect the three Glass Algae to get Gobletweed.
You can also aim your hook at the Glass Algae without diving and collect the Gobletweed.
Area 12 – Submerged structure behind waterfall
The next location where you will find Glass Algae is the submerged city behind the big waterfall in Area 12.
Head to the marked location and follow the path I have marked in the above screenshot.
Head towards the edge.
You will get the option to “Dive In.”
Dive underwater and collect everything in your path using the hook.
You will find a ton of Ancient Treasure and Glass Algae.
Gobletweed best farming spot
Both Areas 6 and 12 are great spots to farm Gobletweed in Monster Hunter Wilds.
However, I recommend using the Leather Armor as it increases the amount of Gobletweed you get from each Glass Algae.
