For players who don’t know, Dr. Garrow is the creator of the Signal Redirector that you need for progressing the main story in Atomfall.
The Signal Redirector allows you to access certain locked areas and is an essential tool for completing the game.
As for Dr. Garrow, she is an important NPC who has her questline that you can follow and complete to unlock her ending.
Getting Dr. Garrow’s ending also unlocks the trophy/achievement called Back Door.
And to progress her quest, you must free her from the Skethermoor Prison’s Loading Bay area.
While most players manage to make their way to Dr. Garrow’s location within the prison, they fail to free her.
Why?
Because they cannot figure out how to unlock the Master Control Room and the Control Room in the Loading Bay area required to free Dr. Garrow.
Seeing that, I prepared this detailed guide to help players out.
How to free Dr. Garrow in Atomfall
Assuming you have already reached Dr. Garrow’s location in the Skethermoor Prison hangar, talk to her and exhaust her dialogues.
[Make sure to agree to free her.]
When you do that, she will hint you the location of the Signal Redirector.
Why?
Because you need it to free her.
Now, in the same area, on the left side of Dr. Garrow’s cage, you will find the Security room.
Enter it through the main gate.
Or, crawl through the vent next to the forklift.
On the storage rack, you will find the Signal Redirector.
In the same room, you will also find a Security Keycard, which you should have if you entered the Skethermoor Prison through the main entrance.
But if you entered the area through The Interchange, make sure to collect the Security Keycard.
Now, to free Dr. Garrow, you must pull down the lever found within the Control Room, which you can access via the Master Control Room.
How to open the Master Control Room in Skethermoor Prison in Atomfall
The door to the Master Control Room is locked from the other side.
First, make your way toward the Loading Bay exit.
Just follow the path left of the Security room and you will be good to go.
Right near the Loading Bay entrance, you will find a panel through which you can redirect the electricity.
Equip the Signal Redirector and redirect the power.
On PC, you can press Q to equip the Signal Redirector when you get the prompt.
After that, you can press the RMB and hover over the circuit board until its highlighted.
Once done, you can press the LMB to redirect the power.
Doing so will power the Loading Bay area.
Now, enter the room left of Master Control Room via the vent on the wall.
Crawl through it.
You will find the door leading to the Control Room locked.
Look on the wall, and you will find another circuit through which you can redirect the power.
Use it to unlock the Control Room door.
Enter the room, unlock the barred door, and use the stairs to reach the lever’s location.
Now, pull the lever and wait for a few seconds.
Dr. Garrow and every other prisoner in the Skethermoor Prison will be free.
Dr. Garrow will run to The Interchange and lock the door.
You must escape the prison through the main entrance.
