If you are trying to open the locked Doppelghast in the Service Tunnel area of the Shattered Veil map, you must know how to solve the Nursery alphabet puzzle in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
Somewhat similar to the Roman numeral puzzle we had in The Tomb map and the maths puzzle on the Terminus map, Shattered Veil offers an alphabet-based puzzle.
You must solve the puzzle to get the passcode required to open the locked Doppelghast found in the lower levels of the Colton Halls mansion.
The Doppelghast is required for obtaining the Severed Arm key item that players need for unlocking the locked Ray Gun Mark II inside the Armory.
But, as with any other Black Ops 6 Zombies puzzle, solving the alphabet puzzle is challenging, especially as players don’t know what to do.
So, if you are also scratching your head seeing the alphabet in the Nursery room and wondering what it does, don’t worry.

Where to find the Nursery alphabet puzzle in the Shattered Veil map
In Black Ops 6 Zombies, you can find the alphabet puzzle in the Nursery room located in the western part of Colton Halls mansion in the Shattered Veil map.
To make things easier for you, I have marked the exact location of the alphabet puzzle in the above map screenshot.
To reach there, follow the quest marker from the spawn location to head to the Upper Terrace area.
Once you are there, you will find the main entrance to Colton Halls.
Unlock the main door using Essence and head inside.
You will find yourself in the Grand Foyer area.
Unlock and take the door on the right side.
You will eventually arrive in the Library area.
Take the door located in the northeast part of the Library to exit the area and access East Balcony.
Follow the East Balcony path, and you will find a few locked doors that you can get past using Essence.
You must head to the West Balcony and take the path I have marked in the above screenshot.
Now, from South West Balcony entrance, enter the door on the left side and you will find youself in Nursery room.
You can also access the Nursery room by following a different route.
How to solve the alphabet puzzle in the Shattered Veil map
To solve the Nursery alphabet puzzle in the Shattered Veil map in Black Ops 6 Zombies, you must first collect the Protocol code from the Fax found in the East Foyer room.
If you don’t know how to do that, I recommend checking out my guide on how to spawn Lab Technician to get Floppy Disk, as it also covers how you can activate the Fax and get the Protocol Code.
Assuming you have activated the Fax machine and obtained the Protocol Code, which is the text in all caps next to the text “protocol,” note it down or remember it.
For example, in the above screenshot, the Protocol Code is CRAB.
In each run, the code is different.
Now, head to the board with the alphabet.
Match each letter from the Protocol Code obtained from the Fax to the ones available on the board and check in which group they are.
For example, my code was CRAB.
- C is in a group of 5 letters, so the corresponding code is 5
- R is in a group of 7 letters, so the corresponding code is 7
- A is in a group of 7 letters, so the corresponding code is 7
- B is in a group of 5 letters, so the corresponding code is 5
So the final code is 5775.
Now you can head to the Service Tunnel area via the Mainframe Chamber and enter the code on the keypad found on the right side of the locked Doppelghast.
Doing so will unlock the cage and release the Doppelghast, whom you can take down for Severed Arm.
Where to find the Fax and how to get the alphabet puzzle hint
You can find the Fax machine next to the computer found in the East Foyer room at the above marked location.
Head there and you will find the Fax on the left side of the computer.
To activate the Fax and get the Protocol Code, you must use the Floppy Disk at the computer on the right side. [For more details on this, check out the guide I linked earlier.]
