Right after you land on Paradise Island and make your way towards the first town, Fairfields, you are stopped by the guard at the gate.
When you exhaust her dialogue, she will tell you about how the Protectorate Drones have been giving them a hard time, and there’s a bounty for taking them out.
Since it is not associated with any main quest, players skip through the dialogues, while some who do read them don’t know where to find this Bounty Terminal and tackle the Drone Swarm bounty.

Where to find the Bounty Terminal in Faifields in The Outer Worlds 2
The Fairfields Bounty Terminal is located left of the Jail building in the town at the above marked location.
From the entrance, follow the straight path, and you will find the Jail on the left side.
Follow the marked path shown in the above screenshot, and you will find it.
Interact with the Terminal to see your or any active Bounty.
The Outer Worlds 2 Diabolical Drones of Doom walkthrough
The Diabolical Drones of Doom is a sort of side quest that triggers when you take on the Drone Swarm bounty from the Fairfields Bounty Terminal.
You first learn about this bounty from the Corporate Trooper Coetze at the Fairfields Town entrance.
Exhaust her dialogues.
Once done, make your way towards the Bounty Terminal.
Interact with it and select the second option, “Look Up Local Bounties.”
The first option you will get is WANTED: Drone Swarm. Take it.
Doing so will trigger the Diabolical Drones of Doom side quest.
Exit the town and make your way towards the quest location.
Once you arrive there, you will find a facility with a swarm of drones.
Defeat them. There are 10+ drones; however, they are easy to take out.
Make sure to collect the scrap and crafting materials from their bodies.
Once you defeat the last drone, you will get the objective to ‘Return to Bounty Terminal.’
Fast Travel to Fairfields and head to the Bounty Terminal.
Interact with it and Turn in the Drone Swarm Bounty.
You will get faction XP that other rewards.
