Clandestine Trade Location is one of the eleven Exploration quests that take place in the Black Anvil Forge area.
For players who don’t know, Black Anvil Forge is one of the new areas within the Talandre region added with the Wilds of Talandre DLC.
That said, the quest in itself is small and simple to complete.
But there is one particular section where players get stuck.
And that is, interrupting the exchange between Black Anvil Legion and Arkeum Legion.
While the quest area is marked on the map, the exchange only happens during a certain time of the day.
As a result, players don’t find anything at the marked spots, and it creates more confusion.
Seeing that, I prepared this complete walkthrough guide for the quest, talking about how you can unlock and complete Clandestine Trade Location in Throne and Liberty.
How to unlock Clandestine Trade Location Exploration quest
In Throne and Liberty, you can unlock the Clandestine Trade Location Exploration quest by doing the prerequisite quest, Traditional Hangover Cure.
You can unlock the Traditional Hangover Cure Exploration quest by completing the Black Anvil Defector quest.
And to unlock that one, you must complete the Exploration quest called Stolen Tools.
In short, for players who haven’t unlocked the Clandestine Trade Location quest, here’s the progression path they must take:
- Unlock Black Anvil Forge Waypoint -> Complete Stolen Tools quest -> Complete Black Anvil Defector quest -> Traditional Hangover Cure -> Clandestine Trade Location.
That said, assuming you already have the quest unlocked, to make it active, go to main menu -> Codex -> Exploration tab -> Talandre region -> Black Anvil Forge tab -> Clandestine Trade Location.
Clandestine Trade Location Exploration quest walkthrough
The Clandestine Trade Location quest consists of only three objectives.
Of which, two are just talking to an NPC named Waturu.
The real challenge in this quest is the second objective, where players must interrupt a trade between the Black Anvil Legion and the Arkeum Legion.
That said, here’s the complete list of objectives the quest offers:
- Talk to Waturu at the Herba Command Post of Herba Village
- Interrupt the exchange between Black Anvil Legion and Arkeum Legion at Black Anvil Forge and obtain the Arkeum Exchange Chest
- Talk to Waturu at the Herba Command Post of Herba Village
Now that you know about all the quest objectives, here’s how to complete each quest section.
Talk to Waturu at the Herba Command Post of Herba Village
As the objective mentions, you can find Waturu at the Herba Command Post.
Teleport to the Herba Village Waypoint and make your way toward the said command post.
I have marked Wataru’s location in the above screenshot in case you are having trouble locating him.
Talk to him and exhaust his dialogues to progress the quest.
Interrupt the exchange between Black Anvil Legion and Arkeum Legion at Black Anvil Forge and obtain the Arkeum Exchange Chest
In this section of the quest, head to the above-marked location at night.
Yes!
At night, as the while the quest doesn’t mentions it, the exchange between Black Anvil Legion and Arkeum Legion at Black Anvil Forge takes place during night time.
They trade at the exact spot that I have marked in the above screenshot.
When you head there at night, wait for a few seconds or minutes, and you will see a yellow portal appearing in the area.
The Bonia Naru’s Henchmen appear from the portal.
Once they do, wait for a few seconds for a red portal to appear.
From it, the Arkeum Legion will appear.
Now, don’t be hasty!
Wait for a few seconds and keep watching them. They will start talking.
A few seconds later, two Obsidian Fragment Chests appear near them.
Now is the time to take out both parties. Once you do that, the Arkeum Exchange Chest will appear.
Loot the chest to complete this section of the quest.
Talk to Waturu at the Herba Command Post of Herba Village
Lastly, head back to Herbal Village and talk to Waturu to complete the quest.
