If you are just like me, recently returned to Fallout 76, and are now not able to find the Starched Gene Perk under Luck, I have the answer for you.

The Starched Gene is one of the most important, if not the most important, Perks in the game for players who rely on mutations.

Recently, it received some changes and was moved under a different attribute, and thus, many players are unable to find it.

If you are one such player, keep reading my guide.

Fallout 76 Starched Gene Perk’s new location

In Fallout 76, you can find the Starched Gene Perk under the Endurance tab of the Perks screen.

Formerly, the Starched Gene was a two-level Perk that players can find under the Luck attribute Perk Cards.

However, with the December 2024 update, titled The Gleaming Depths, the Starched Gene Perk was moved to Endurance.

Moreover, the Perk was changed to a level 1 card with the same benefits as before.

How to unlock the Starched Gene Perk

Like before, you can unlock the Starched Gene Perk by reaching character level 30.

Once that is done, you can access the Perks menu via your Pip-Boy and unlock the Starched Gene Perk.

What does Starched Gene Perk do?

The Starched Gene Perk stops you from mutating from radiations while also making sure you don’t lose any active mutations.

The latter is the sole reason that many players find it mandatory to have the Starched Gene Perk equipped.
