The new zombies map Avalon: Citadelle des Morts will be released in Black Ops 6 during the mid-season.
Activision did not yet share the exact release date for the map at the time of writing.
For players who don’t know, Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 1 will go live on November 14, 2024.
Based on that and the fact that Call of Duty Seasons usually last for two months, the new zombies map Avalon: Citadelle des Morts will likely be released in mid-December 2024.
In any case, I will update this guide once we get Activision’s new Zombies-mode-focused blog as we approach midseason.
Black Ops 6 Avalon: Citadelle des Morts map: everything we know so far
The new Zombies map Avalon: Citadelle des Morts comprises a huge abandoned castle in Europe.
Similar to other maps offered in the Zombies game mode, we will have a main quest associated with the map along with many other easter eggs.
In fact, the main story of Avalon: Citadelle des Morts is a direct continuation of the events of Terminus Island.
So, I recommend completing it to better understand the story and uncover things in a more chronological order.
That said, here is a brief description of the map Activision shared in their Black Ops 6 Season 1 blog post:
After the shocking revelations at the culmination of the Terminus Main Quest, Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey follow the uncovered clues to Europe, and discover an abandoned castle – a “citadel of the dead” if you will – that offers up a host of , ghoulish horrors , medieval village with hidden abound!
The new map gives me the vibes of the Castle area from Resident Evil Village. I am excited to play it as soon as it arrives.

Black Ops 6 Zombies new Wonder Weapon and other content
The arrival of the new Zombies map in Black Ops 6 marks the addition of several new content to the Zombies game mode.
These new content includes:
- An additional Perk-A-Cola
- An additional Field Upgrade
- An additional Ammo Mod
- 18 New Augments
- Three new delicious flavors of GobbleGums!
- Hand Cannon, a new craftable Support weapon
- New Wonder Weapons
- A new Enemy Type
The Hand Cannon and the Directed Mode will be available starting Season 1 on November 14, 2024.
Meanwhile, the other content will be available alongside the new Zombies map during the mid-Season.
