Whether you are looking for the location of the five Substation Switches in FL4K and the Last Resort story pack in Borderlands 4, the Substation Control Room, or want to know how to unlock the hidden boss Vulkorr and get the Substation Satisfaction achievement, I’ve got you covered with this guide.
For players who might have missed it, just like the Ice Fishing hidden quest in Mad Ellie DLC, FL4K and the Last Resort has its own hidden activity that unlocks a boss called Vulkorr.
Moreover, defeating Vulkorr for the first time also unlocks the Substation Satisfaction achievement that many trophy hunters wouldn’t want to miss out on.
So with that said, here’s my complete guide on the Substation Switches and how to use them to unlock Vulkorr.
All five Substation Switch locations on Providence Island
I have shared the location of all five Substation Switches below:
Substation Switch 1
The first substation entrance is at the marked location above in the Vinechoked Canopy region.
Head there, and you will find the door locked by a force field.
Remove the battery found on the top right side of the door to unlock it.
After that, head inside.
Go through the small openings to reach the Substation Switch.
Defeat the Mangler in the room.
Flip the switch.
Additional
At this location, there’s one more additional activity. Head outside and use the battery to power up the console in the middle of the area.
Use the switch to unlock the door behind.
Inside, you will find one Marcus Bobblehead and a Red Chest.
Substation Switch 2
The second substation’s entrance is found at the marked location above in the Vinechoked Canopy region.
Teleport to The Surly Centipede Safe House. From there, head to the marked location.
Once you arrive, defeat the enemies and head towards the entrance.
Once again, the door is locked. Turn around and shoot the circuit.
Head inside and defeat the enemies.
Flip the switch.
Substation Switch 3
The third substation entrance is at the marked location above in the Bagheera Range region.
The Blind is the nearest fast travel point. Teleport there and make your way to the marked location.
Defeat the enemies at the entrance and head inside.
Drop down and defeat the enemies.
Now the door to the Substation Switch room is locked. To unlock it, go past the small opening near the big Tediore generator, as you see in the screenshot above.
Follow the wire on the ground. It will lead you to a generator. Turn it off.
Now, head back and flip the switch.
Substation Switch 4
The fourth substation’s entrance is found at the marked location above in the Pyroclast Field region.
The Wrecked Ratch is the nearest fast travel point. Teleport there and make your way to the marked area.
Head inside the substation.
Follow the wire, as the door leading to the Substation Switch is locked. Jump and mantle through the opening.
Turn off the generator.
Flip the switch.
Substation Switch 5
The final substation’s entrance is at the marked location above in the same Pyroclast Field region.
Head there. The door will be unlocked.
Flip the switch.

Providence Island Substation Control Room location
After you flip all five Substation Switches, you will get the notification on Substation Control and a hint to look at your map.
Open the map, and you will find a big search area in the Bagheera Range region.
Teleport to the Safe House, and you will find the same old detector that we used to find the vaults.
The Substation Control Room’s entrance is via a cave found at the marked location above.
Head inside the cave and interact with the door.
Go through the opening.
Defeat Vulkorr.
Unlocking the Substation Satisfaction achievement
As I mentioned earlier, defeating Vulkorr for the first time unlocks the Substation Satisfaction achievement.
Vulkorr Boss location
After you beat Vulkorr, open the map. You will see his boss icon.
