Borderlands 4 Sludgemaw boss location, how to unlock and dedicated drops list

Sludgemaw is one of the many bosses in Borderlands 4 that you can unlock by completing certain side quests.

Just like other main and side bosses in the game, Sludgemaw has dedicated drops. And while all are good, one of them, the Legendary Kickballer Shotgun, is an S-tier weapon that you should definitely get.

In this guide, I have shared the location of the Sludgemaw boss and its dedicated drops, along with everything else you need to know.

Borderlands 4 Sludgemaw boss location

You can find the Sludgemaw boss in the cave located beneath the Watershed Gate POI, located in the Idolator’s Noose sub-region in the Fadefields region.

How to unlock the Sludgemaw boss in Borderlands 4

To unlock the Sludgemaw boss in the game, you must complete two side quests. These are:

1. Null and Void
2. All Charged Up

Null and Void side quest location

Null and Void side quest is located in The Howl, south of The Launchpad, as you can see in the above screenshot.

If you don’t see the quest at that location, make sure you have completed the A Lot to Process main quest.

That said, head there and talk to Rush to take the Null and Void quest.

It’s a fairly long quest but a simple one with waypoints, and that is why I am not going to talk about it much in this guide.

All Charged Up side quest location

All Charged Up side quest unlocks right after you complete Null and Void side quest. In fact, you can start the quest right where the Null and Void quest ends.

Start the quest and progress through it.

At the end of the quest, you will fight Sludgemaw for the first time. Defeat Sludgemaw.

Take the grapple at the end of the cave and talk to the NPC to complete the quest.

After that, take the portal near the stairs to head back to the entrance of the boss arena.

From there, you can drop down the opening in the ground and head to the central area.

There, you will find Sludgemaw’s Moxxi’s Encore Machine that you can use to farm the boss.
