Whether you are unable to find and follow Tomorrow’s trail during Main Order 22 or are simply stuck at Search for Tomorrow in Death Stranding 2, I’ve got you covered with this walkthrough guide.
Main Order 22 is a main quest in the game where you must find Tomorrow, aka Elle Fanning, as she leaves the DHV Magellan without informing anyone.
While the quest looks easy, in it, you must follow Tomorrow’s in the right order to progress.
And since following Trails in Death Stranding 2 is a lot difficult at times, as even your trail is visible on the ground and looks the same, many players find the quest hard to complete.
In the wake of that, as always, I took a ton of screenshots, recorded the complete quest, and prepared this super detailed walkthrough guide for the quest, Search for Tomorrow.

How to start and prepare for Main Order 22 in Death Stranding 2
To start Main Order 22, you must first complete Main Order 21 and, at the end of it, rest at DHV Magellan.
Doing so, you will be able to take the Main Order 22 from the DHV Magellan’s Delivery Terminal and progress the main story.
When you start the quest, Tarman will warn you about mechs and will ask you to prepare for them.
Listen to his advice and pack some Mech effective weapons like a Machine Gun [MP], Shotgun, Grenade Pistol, etc.
In this quest, you will be following Tomorrow’s trail and fighting around nine to ten heavily armored Mechs near the end of the quest.
No bosses, nothing. Still, I recommend having at least two to three weapons.
Death Stranding 2 Search for Tomorrow quest walkthrough
After you start the Search for Tomorrow quest, you must follow her trail that will eventually lead you to the Tar Current anomaly location where you found her for the first time.
I have marked the complete path that you must take to find Tomorrow.
However, keep in mind, the quest will only progress if you follow the trail in the correct order.
There are four points where you will get a call from your team, hinting towards the next search location for Tomorrow.
So just follow the instructions below and the path, and you will be able to complete the quest in no time.
After taking the quest, go outside of DHV Magellan and scan the broken bike to get Tomorrow’s trail.
The bike belongs to Tomorrow, and right of it, you will find her trail.
Follow it!
It will lead you up the cliff. As you go closer, you will get a call from your team, adding a quest marker on the map.
The marker will lead you towards Tomorrow’s Timefall Shelter.
Go past it.
Near the cliff, you will find a rope that Tomorrow used to get down the cliff.
Use the rope to descend the mountain.
Do not go far left or right while going down the rope, as the next rope that Tomorrow took is on the lower cliff, as you can see in the above screenshot.
You can find it at the above player icon location.
Use it to get down the small cliff and follow Tomorrow’s trail.
It will lead you towards the F2 South Distribution Center.
As you close in on the F2 South Distribution Center, you will get a call and the next search marker on the map.
Head there.
You will find a ladder put down by Tomorrow.
Use it and keep following her trail.
You can make the trail visible by simply scanning the area.
Her trail will lead you to an area with three floating mechs.
When you go near them, they will go on alert mode and start attacking you.
Take them out and follow the Tomorrow’s trail.
Eventually, you will arrive at the rock where she rested before moving to the next spot.
Right past the rock, you will find Tomorrow’s ladder.
Use it to go to the other end of the river.
Keep following her trail that goes through the shore.
As you close in, you will get the final search location marked on your map.
Head there!
A cutscene will play out.
Three heavily armored mechs will spawn and start attacking you using melee attacks.
Take them out.
Once you do that, three more will spawn behind you.
Defeat them.
Once done, go near Tomorrow’s jacket and ‘Examine’ it.
Doing so will play out the final cutscene before completing the quest.
DO NOT SKIP THE CUTSCENE!

Watch the complete cutscene.
Record it for later use.
Once the cutscene ends, you will get the Result window.
Skip through it and the rewards widow. And that is it, that is how you find Tomorrow and complete Main Order 22.
