During The Fallow main quest in The Edge of Fate DLC, you fight a Vex boss called Devastator Mind.
It is a three-phase boss battle, where you must lower the boss’s shields twice to finally take him out and complete the quest.
While the boss battle is not that hard, it is the section where players are asked to remove the Vex Shields that many players get stuck.
And so, I, being your saviour, am here with a detailed guide on how you can remove these Vex Shields and defeat Devastator Mind in Destiny 2.
How to remove the Devastator Mind boss’s shield in Destiny 2
To remove Vex’s Shields, aka the Devastator Mind boss’s shield, you must destroy two generators hidden behind barriers in the boss arena.
Removing the first Vex Shield
Once you take out the first layer of the boss’s HP, head towards the left part of the boss arena.
There you will find a bunch of enemies. Take them out and head there.
Shoot at the white Vex cube to unlock the tunnel in front of you.
Look on the right side of the stairs near the left side barrier, you will find the tunnel, which should now be unlocked.
Transform into Matterspark form and go through it.
Once you are in the room, destroy the shield generator.
Doing so will remove the Devastator Mind boss’s shield and will spawn a bunch of enemies.
Take them out and keep damaging the boss until the second HP layer is gone.
Removing the second Vex Shield
Once the boss’s HP’s second layer is gone, the Vex Shields will come back.
To remove the second Vex Shield, head to the right side of the arena and take out the enemies.
Once done, shoot the Vex Cube at the top.
Now, head to the middle platform where the boss is present.
Use the Matterspark activator on the ground and head up the stairs.
On the ground, you will find a tunnel with an opening.
Drop inside and head straight.
You will find yourself in the second generator’s room.
Shoot it to remove the Vex Shields.
And that is it. Now, defeat the Devastator Mind boss and interact with the console on the right side of the arena to complete the quest.
