Whether you are trying to sell Bloatfly Meat to an NPC vendor for SCORE, trying to complete the kill insects daily or weekly challenge, or the challenge where you are asked to take a picture of a Bloatfly, in any case, you must know where to find Bloatfly in Fallout 76.
Bloatfly is one of the many mutated insects in Fallout 76 associated with many challenges.
To name a few, there are Season-based challenges where you are tasked to sell a Bloatfly Meat to any NPC vendor for 250 SCORE.
Whereas, we have dailies like killing five insects or the Tadpole Scout challenge of taking pictures of a Bloatfly using your ProSnap Camera.
That is not it!
You can also use the Bloatfly Meat to make different types of resistance-based food items.
Moreover, there are some indirect challenges that you can complete by scrapping Bloatfly Glands.
So, now you know!
Knowing the best Bloatfly spawn locations in Fallout 76 is a must for every player for many reasons.
Seeing that, I prepared this detailed guide covering some of the best regular Bloatfly spawns in the game that I use to farm them.
The best spawn locations for Bloatfly in Fallout 76

Here are a few spawn locations for Bloatfly in the game:
- The un-named cave northeast of Freddy Fear’s House of Scares
- New River Gorge Bridge – East to the New River Gorge Resort
- Between Trading Post POI and Stony Man Lookout
- North of Mire’s Eye Cave
- Northwest of Research Site Saxony
- Aaronholt Homestead
- The Giant Tea Pot
- Hopewell Cave
- The area around Spruce Knob Campground
- Haven Church
- Crevasse Dam
- Thunder Mountain Substation TM-01
- Thunder Mountain Substation TM-02

Apart from the above locations, there are also many events where the Bloatfly spawns as one of the many enemies.
These are:
- Camp Fire Tales
- Free Range
- Scorched Earth
- Horde: Bloatfly Horde
- Caravan events
Now, even though there are multiple locations and ways to find Bloatfly in Fallout 76, I simply don’t like most of them.
For example, when it comes to events, you must wait for the public events to go live to hunt down Bloatfly.
On the other hand, the above locations that I listed do have Bloatfly spawn.
But except for a few, many are not that consistent.

So, if you ask me, there are only three best Bloatfly spawns in Fallout 76 that I recommend players to use to farm them.
These are:
- The un-named cave northeast of Freddy Fear’s House of Scares
- New River Gorge Bridge – East to the New River Gorge Resort
- Between Trading Post POI and Stony Man Lookout
I have shared detailed map locations and videos sharing the Bloatfly locations at the above locations.
Location 1 – Un-named cave northeast of Freddy Fear’s House of Scares

The unnamed cave found northeast of Freddy Fear’s House of Scares has five to six Bloatfly spawns.

Teleport to Freddy Fear’s House of Scares and make your way to the marked location.

Once you arrive at the cave, you will find the Bloatflies.

Around three spawn outside of the cave.

With two or more, who spawn inside the cave.

Lastly, there are also a few honeybeasts that you can find there.
You can kill them for the ‘Kill Insects’ challenge.
That said, here’s my video guide showing the above location and Bloatfly spawn:
Location 2 – New River Gorge Bridge – East to the New River Gorge Resort

The area from New River Gorge Bridge – East POI to the Resort building is yet another great spot for farming Bloatflies in Fallout 76.
First, teleport to the New River Gorge Bridge – East POI.

Once you spawn, turn left and head towards the resort.

You will find three Bloatfly left of the main cabin.

Take them out and follow the path and you will come across two more Bloatfly.
I have shared a video guide for the above spawn. Check it out for more details.
That said, you can also keep farming the same spot by server hopping.
Location 3 – Between Trading Post POI and Stony Man Lookout

The third great spot for Bloatfly spawn in Fallout 76 is the area between Trading Post POI and the Stony Man Lookout in Skyline Valley.
Head to the above marked location.

In the jungle area next to the main road, you will find the Bloatflies.

They are hard to miss.
But still, if you are still confused about the location, check out my video guide below:
