How to perform a critical hit on Sentry Bots in Fallout 76
While most of you already know, for new players, to perform a Critical Hit, first you must activate VATS mode.
On PC you can do it by pressing the ‘Q’ button.
On Xbox, you must press the LB button.
And, on PlayStation, you must press the L1 button.
Once you enter the VATS mode, hit the Sentry Bot until the CRIT bar is full.
Once it is full, based on the platform, press the respective button to do a Critical Hit:
- On PC: Spacebar
- On Xbox: Y button
- On PlayStation: △ button
Doing so will do a crit hit on the enemy and will complete the associated challenge.
Best guaranteed Sentry Bot spawn locations in Fallout 76
The best Sentry Bot spawn locations in the game are 98 NAR Regional, Dyer Chemicals, The Whitesprings Resort and Bunker, and of course, all of the Nuclear Sites, including Alpha, Charlie, and Bravo.
There are many other locations where you can find friendly and hostile Sentry Bots.
Such as east of Watoga Station, Mount Blair Trainyard, and the parking lot at Garrahan Mining Headquarters.
But the spawn is inconsistent compared to the locations I shared before.
That being said, for new players, the best location to farm Sentry Bots or to complete associated challenges, in my opinion, is 98 NAR Regional.
Dyer Chemicals is in The Mire region and will take a long walk if you haven’t unlocked any nearby POIs.
Meanwhile, 98 NAR Regional is the closest one to Vault 76.
Apart from that, the Sentry Bots found at the Whitesprings Resort are passive and attack, only if you aggro them first.
For new players, why create a mess when you can do the challenge more easily?
Because if you aggro the Sentry Bots at Whitespring Resort, make sure you are better prepared.
As for old and returning players, any of the above locations is best for you for farming Sentry Bots or completing associated challenges.

98 NAR Regional Sentry Bot location
98 NAR Regional is located between Top of the World and The Whitespring Resort POIs.
As you can see in the above map screenshot.
Teleport to its location or head there on foot. (for new players.)
Once you arrive, follow the main road as I have marked.
Near the train line with the US Cargo Train, you will find the Sentry Bot.
Dyer Chemical Sentry Bot location
Dyer Chemical POI also offers a guaranteed Sentry Bot spawn. At least in my case.
Head there and make your way towards the Dyer Chemical main building.
Make sure to stick on the path on the right side.
That is where the Sentry Bot does his regular rounds.
Stay on the main path on you will spot the Sentry Bot.
Take it out, make sure to do a crit hit and loot the body as they offer some really good high tier scraps.
Whitesprings Sentry Bots location
The Whitesprings is full of Sentry Bots.
Head there!
Shoot any one of the bots or NPCs and they all aggro.
