If your game is crashing while playing or loading, my guide on how to fix InZOI’s crashing issue will come in handy.
InZOI is one of the most awaited life simulation games from Krafton that is finally available in early access.
Yes! Early access.
And with that, the title, and the fact that you are reading this article, you may already know the game suffers from technical issues like crashing.
Now, before you go ahead and say Unreal Engine 5 game. No wonder it’s a technical mess.
In InZOI’s case, it is because the game is in early access.
Even the devs have an official post ready for helping players who are experiencing any of the following issues:
- Unresponsive errors
- Error Code 80: “Game Failed to Start”
- Unable to start the game (missing executable) errors
- Failure to launch after displaying the “Preparing to Launch” message
- Failed to initialize Steam errors
One common thing with all the above-listed errors is that the game crashes, stopping players from playing the game.
Thankfully, there are a few working fixes that you can use to resolve the InZOI crashing issue.
And I can assure you, they are simple to implement and work like a charm.

Clearing the Steam download cache

Clearing Steam’s download cache is an official fix that the devs recommend players to implement if their game is crashing.
Or if they are getting any error message while playing the game followed by a crash.
Now, if you don’t know how to do that, it is pretty simple.
Open Steam.
Click on the Downloads button at the bottom.

Now, click on the ⚙️ icon to open System Settings > Downloads.

Look on the list of menus on the right side, you will find the option “Clear Download Cache.”
Next to it is the “Clear Cache” button.
Click on it and sign in to your Steam account.
Disabling Steam Overlay, Nvidia GeForce Experience, and others

Overlays like the Steam Overlay, the Nvidia GeForce Experience, and other third-party overlays have recently caused many crashing and black screen-related issues in games.
A prime example of this is Space Marine 2 crashing during the opening cinematic and Stalker 2’s crashing issue.
For some players, InZOI is also crashing due to these overlays.
While you can exit and close the overlays like GeForce Experience and others, for Steam, the process is different.
How to turn off Steam Overlay

- Open Steam
- Click on the ‘Steam’ tab at the top right
- Select the ‘Settings’ option
- Head to the ‘In-game’ tab
- Disable Steam Overlay
Verifying game files integrity

Verifying game file integrity is yet another official fix that developers recommend for players facing crashes while playing InZOI.
While most of you might already know how to do it, for those who don’t, follow these steps:
- Open Steam
- Head to the ‘Library‘ section
- Search for ‘InZOI‘
- Right-click on it and select the ‘Properties’ option
- Head to the ‘Installed Files’ section
- Click on the ‘Verify integrity of game files’ to start the verification
Updating Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package version

Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable has essential packages that are required to run InZOI.
If you are running an older version, you are prone to face crashes and other technical issues while playing the game.

So, it is best to check whether you have the latest version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package.
If not, update it or delete the existing one and download the latest one from Microsoft’s official website.
Running Steam as an administrator

If the above fixes didn’t resolve the InZOI crashing issue for you, make sure you are running Steam as an administrator.
Now, this is not me randomly saying that you should.
It is a troubleshooting step that InZOI’s developers recommend players to try if their game is crashing.
Updating GPU driver

As you may already know, whenever there is a new major release, we get a new updated driver for GPUs to ensure there are no compatibility and other issues.
The same is true with InZOI.
If your game is crashing, ensure you have the latest drivers installed.
Whether you are running an Nvidia GPU or an AMD or Intel’s ARC series, just try to have the latest drivers installed.
If you have any additional fixes that might have worked for you but aren’t mentioned in this list, please share them in the comments.
