Whether you cannot get past the blue infection mist in Atomfall or are looking for details on how to power up the Data Store Alpha and unlock the Storage Room, this guide covers it all.
Data Store Alpha is one of the four Data Stores within The Interchange that you must power up to progress the main story.
While each Data Store has its own version of puzzle and hazards that makes it hard to power them up and unlock their respective Store Rooms, for Data Store Alpha, things are quite extreme.
You unlock Data Store Alpha by entering The Interchange through the Wyndham Village.
When you make your way to the Battery Terminal, you will find a strange blue mist that inflicts serious damage.
Most players don’t know how to survive the blue mist, and thus, they are stuck.
But no more!
Here’s my detailed guide covering how you can easily power up the Data Store Alpha and unlock the Store Room in Atomfall.
How to survive the blue infection in Atomfall
To survive the blue infection that gets inflicted when you try to enter the Data Store Alpha, you need the Strange Tonic.
You can also brute force through it using a Painkiller that you can craft relatively early in the game, but the correct remedy for the blue infection is the Strange Tonic.
That said, you can get the recipe for crafting the Strange Tonic from the Castle Ruins basement.
For those who don’t know, Castle Ruins is located in the southwest part of the Casterfell Woods.

Assuming you have the Strange Tonic recipe, head to the Crafting menu.
Select Strange Tonic and craft one.
It requires the following materials:
- Spores x4
- Chemicals x1
- Glass x3
- Herbs x5
Now, consume the crafted Strange Tonic from your inventory.
Make sure you are standing near to Data Store Alpha, as the tonic’s effect is not permanent and only stays active for a certain time.
How to power up Data Store Alpha in Atomfall
If you have followed the guide so far, you must already have consumed the Strange Tonic and are now ready to power up Data Store Alpha.
Make your way to the lower levels of the Data Store.
Enter the room with blue infection mist.
Insert an Atomic Battery in the Alpha Battery Terminal.
Make sure you have an Atomic Battery in your inventory.
If you have them stored in the Pnematic Tube, make sure to add one to your inventory before heading to the Battery Terminal.
Once you insert the battery, the Data Store Alpha will power up.
Where to get Atomic Battery in Atomfall
There are multiple ways to get Atomic Batteries in Atomfall.
But since we are talking about powering up the Data Store Alpha, you can get the closest one from Molly, the NPC Vendor.
You can find her at the above marked location at the following coordinates: 26.4E, 79.0N.
Talk to her and exhaust her dialogues.
If you meet her for the first time, based on your dialogue choices, she will even hint you towards the Interchange’s location.
That said, select the Barter dialogue to enter the trade menu.
Molly likes Painkillers and Molotov Cocktails.
To get an Atomic Battery, you need at least three Molotovs.
If you don’t have them, I have a detailed guide on where to find a Molotov Cocktail Recipe so you can craft as many as you want.
Once you obtain the Atomic Battery from Molly, carefully listen to her dialogues.
She will tell you that she had one more Atomic Battery that she sold to the Vicar, whom you can find inside the church at Wyndham Village.
It will also trigger a lead called Atomic Batteries.
So if you have already gotten and used the Atomic Battery from Molly, you can get another one from the Vicar.

Other than that, another easy way to get Atomic Battery is by taking down the different BARD robots and extracting the battery when they overheat.
You can also find one Atomic Battery in the lake behind Nora’s Barn in Skethermoor.
You can find it on a broken BARD robot.
How to unlock Data Store Alpha Storage Room in Atomfall
The Data Store Alpha Storage Room is located in the lower level, filled with blue mist.
Take the ladder.
Use the stairs to get to the lower floor.
On the right side of the locked Store Room, you will find a dead body.
Search it, and you will find the Data Store A Store Room Key along with Glass x5 and Chemical x1.
Use the key to unlock the Data Store Alpha Store Room.
Note
Before you unlock the Store Room, I recommend equipping a throwable or a melee weapon as the room is filled with bugs who can shred your HP bar within seconds.
Once you clear the enemies, loot the BARD Crate for Training Stimulants and other items.
You will also find some Medic Kits and such items on the table.
