Whether you want to remove the barrier around the village in Emberwood in RuneScape Dragonwilds or find the four Shrine locations associated with it, this guide covers it.
Emberwood Village is a key POI in the Fellhollow region, as it holds one of the three Curse Fragments you need to progress the area’s main quest, Withering Heights.
However, a large blue barrier blocks access to the village.
When you approach the village entrance, you will find four pedestals with engravings hinting at different Shrines you must find and activate to remove the barrier.
But like other quests such as The Wild Hunt and Restless Ghosts, and like other puzzles, there is no quest marker leading to these Shrines.
As a result, many players get stuck. So I prepared this guide with the locations of all four Shrines and how to activate them to remove the Emberwood barrier in RuneScape Dragonwilds.
Emberwood Village and barrier location
In RuneScape Dragonwilds, you can find Emberwood Village locked behind a massive blue barrier at the marked location above in the central part of the Emberwood region.
Head there and you will be able to spot it as it is hard to miss.
At the entrance of the Emberwood Village, you will find the Pedestals corresponding to each of the four Shrines. When you activate one, the respective Shrine symbol will start glowing.
How to remove the barrier around Emberwood Village
To remove the barrier around Emberwood Village in RuneScape Dragonwilds and get the Curse Fragment, you must find and activate four Shrines in the area.
All four Emberwood Shrine locations and how to activate them
Below I have shared the location of all four Shrines and details on how you can activate each:
Shrine 1
The first Shrine is in the eastern part of the Emberwood region, at the above-marked location.
Head there and interact with the Shrine. You will learn that it is damaged and to activate it, you must repair it.
Thankfully, the broken part isn’t far away. It is below the big rock, in the area I marked in the above screenshot.
Collect the broken part and interact with the Shrine to activate it.
Shrine 2
The second Shrine is inside a locked church in northern Emberwood at the above-marked location.
From the first Shrine’s location, look north to spot the Church with the second Shrine.
The door is locked. So use Windstep to get to the first floor.
Drop down and interact with the Shrine to activate it.
Exhaust the dialogue pop-ups and head to the next Shrine’s location.

Shrine 3
The third Shrine is in the arena in the western part of the Emberwood, at the above-marked location.
Head there and defeat the Green Dragon.
After that, go to the center of the arena and interact with the Shrine.
After activating, exhaust the dialogue.
Shrine 4
The fourth and final Shrine is found in the southern part of Emberwood at the above player icon location.

Once you activate all four Shrines, the barrier surrounding Emberwood Village will be gone.
