For players who don’t know, Lies of P’s Overture DLC was shadow-dropped on June 6, 2025, during the Summer Game Fest livestream.
The DLC that many of us have been waiting for, for a long time, was finally available to play.
But the question was how?
To start the Lies of P DLC, players must progress the game until a particular chapter to get an item and follow certain steps.
While the veterans can easily go through the steps and access the DLC, newcomers may get confused.
So, for such players, I prepared this super detailed guide on how to unlock and start the Overture DLC in Lies of P.

How to unlock Lies of P Overture DLC
To unlock the Overture DLC, you need a key item called Star’s Chrysalis.
First, purchase the DLC on your respective platform.
Make sure your game is up to date and there are no pending updates.
Once you launch the game for the first time, you will get the notification that your Overture DLC purchase has been complete.
Now, progress the game until the end of Chapter 9, where you reach the vandalized Hotel Krat.
Activate the Hotel Krat Stargazer.
Doing so will add the Star’s Chrysalis item to your inventory.
How to access Lies of P Overture DLC
Assuming you have unlocked the Overture DLC, to access it, interact with any Stargazer.
Head to the fifth tab, ‘V.’ Teleport to the ‘Path of the Pilgrim’ location.
Once the loading screen ends, a cutscene will play out.
After the cutscene, you will find a few butterflies marking a glowing path as you see in the above screenshot.
Follow the path and interact with the old Stargazer at the end of it.
Another cutscene will play out and you will get the Lies of P: Overture DLC window.
Press and hold the interact button to start the DLC.
Once you do that, you will find yourself at the start of the Overture DLC.
How to travel back to the base game in Lies of P from Overture DLC
For some reason, if you want to travel back to the base game locations from the Overture DLC, you must interact with any Stargazer in the DLC area.
After that, you must select the ‘Teleport to another Stargazer’ option.
In the teleportation menu, press the corresponding button to use the ‘Switch Timeline’ option. [On PS5, it is the △ button.]
Doing so will present the base game teleportation menu where you can select the location you want to visit and teleport there.
