Durendal, aka the Lightning Sword, is one of the four Elemental Swords.
For players who don’t know, the Elemental Swords are the new Wonder Weapons we got with the Citadelle des Morts map.
They perfectly blend into the map’s theme, and each of the four is fun to use.
But that is not it; each of them has unique effects, abilities, and looks and is also used in the main quest.
That said, obtaining each sword requires players to go through a set of steps; the same goes for Durendal.
So keep reading as I explain in great detail how you can get Durendal in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

How to get Durendal
In Black Ops 6 Zombies, to get the Lightning Sword Durendal, you must first obtain the Bastard Sword.
Once that is done, you must collect three Lightning Rods from around the map.
And after that, you must place them inside an Urn.
Doing so will summon a small storm area with endless zombie spawns.
Target the ones with the blue eyes and kill them with the Bastard Sword.
When you do that, your sword will be shrouded by lightning.
Now, hit the urn with the sword to transfer the lightning onto one of the three rods.
Repeat the process two more times until all three Lightning Rods inside the urn are shrouded in lightning.
Once done, place the Bastard Sword in the urn by pressing the interact button.
In a few seconds, the sword will turn into Durendal.
Collect it and wreak havoc!

How do you get the Durendal base sword?
To get the base Bastard Sword, follow the Citadelle des Morts map’s main objectives until you unlock the main castle door.
Head inside the castle’s courtyard and wait until round 11 to spawn the zombie to get the Stamp item.
Use the Stamp on the Knight Statue with the Stag emblem on the chest to obtain the Bastard Sword.

All Lightning Rod locations
There are three Lightning Rods that you can find in the Citadelle des Morts map.
Here are the exact locations:
Lightning Rod 1
The first Lightning Rod is found between the wooden barrel and crates in the west part of the starting area.
Head to the yellow marked location as shown in the above map screenshot to reach there.
Once you arrive, look left of the Deadshot Daiquiri machine and you will find the first Lightning Rod.
Lightning Rod 2
The second Lightning Rod is found on the eastern part of the map, as marked on the above map screenshot.
However, unlike the first Lightning Rod, the second one is hidden behind a circuit box puzzle.
Once you arrive there, you will find the circuit box on the wall.
You must hit it with electricity to activate it and get the Lightning Rod from it.
There are two ways you can do it.
The first option is to hit it with a Shock Charge tactical.
With the second option being using a Dead Wire mod.
Once you supply electricity to the circuit box, the Lightning Rod will drop right below it.
How to get Shock Charge
If you are new to the Zombies game mode, you can get Shock Charge using three methods:
- Equip one in your initial loadout.
- Kill zombies to get Shock Charge as a random drop.
- Craft a Shock Charge at any Crafting Bench for 500 Scraps. [Unlocks at level 42]
Crafting Bench location 1
There are two Crafting Benches in the Citadelle des Morts map.
You can find the first one in the basement of the pub in the starting area.
Head inside the pub and take the stairs leading to the basement.
On the right side of the basement room, you will find the Crafting Table.

The second Crafting Table is on the left in the main castle’s first room.
How to get Dead Wire mod
If you opt for the Dead Wire mod, you can get one for your weapon at any of the two Arsenal machines.
Similar to the Shock Charge, you need 500 Scraps for the Dead Wire mod.
Arsenal location 1
The first Arsenal machine is found inside the pub. On the right corner as you can see in the mini-map.
Arsenal location 2
The second Arsenal is found at the above marked location which is right opposite of the main castle’s entrance door.
Head there and close to the cannon wall, you will find the second Arsenal.
Lightning Rod 3
The third Lightning Rod is found inside the dungeon room that you can reach through the Wall Buy inside the Pack A Punch machine room.
The Lightning Rod is stuck on an armored zombie with 100% spawn.
Kill it and the item will drop.
Once it falls on ground, you can press the interact button to collect it.
Citadelle des Morts Urn location
You can find the urn required to turn the Bastard Sword into Durendal on the Ramparts near the main castle entrance.
Follow the path that you took for the Canon, and you will arrive at its location.
