RuneScape Dragonwilds features a variety of quests in the game that come with no quest markers.
All you have is a brief detail on the objective, and the rest is on you to find.
In true RuneScape fashion.
Among these quests, the very first one that many players will encounter or can trigger is the side quest called Restless Ghosts.
In this quest, players are tasked to find the use of the Ghostspeak Amulet and then find the restless spirits and lay them to rest, with the only detail being that they only appear at night.
I know many players will struggle with this quest, as I spent hours finding these spirits and searching for ways to lay them to rest.
So, without any further ado, let us check out how to get and complete the Restless Spirits quest in RuneScape Dragonwilds.
How to unlock the Restless Ghosts quest in RuneScape Dragonwilds
To unlock the Restless Ghosts quest, you must acquire the Ghostspeak Amulet.
You can find it in the destroyed village in Bramblemead Valley.
First, make your way to the marked location to find a water well.
There are some Goblins in the area so make sure you have a weapon to deal with them.
Once you arrive at the well, interact with it.
Doing so, you will find the Ghostspeaks Amulet, which triggers the Restless Ghosts side quest.
Restless Spirits side quest complete walkthrough
There are two main objectives in the Restless Ghosts quest in RuneScape Dragonwilds. These are:
- Search for a purpose for the Amulet of Ghostspeak.
- Find the restless spirits and help lay them to rest.
To keep the walkthrough structured and simple, here’s how you can complete each section:
Search for a purpose for the Amulet of Ghostspeak
To complete this part of the Restless Ghosts quest, all you have to do is talk to any of the four spirits associated with the quest.
Doing so will progress the objective and will unlock the next one, which is, “Find the restless spirits and help lay them to rest.”
Find the restless spirits and help lay them to rest
There are four restless spirits you must find to progress and complete the quest.
These are:
- Warren
- Finn
- Lazina
- Kay
At the time of writing this guide, I managed to find three restless spirits, who are Finn, Warren, and Lazina.
Since the game has a party of four, I am assuming there’s one more spirit.
Warren’s restless spirit location
Warren is one of the restless spirits whom you can easily find at the above-marked location at night.
Head there and you will find him inside the dilapidated house.
Talk to him and exhaust his dialogue to get his name.
I also recommend checking every dialogue he says as he hints at other spirits’ locations.
Here are the hints that he gives:
- “My brother lies buried in darkness beneath a southern point rising high in the sky. Find his name. Set him free.”
- “Blades that once whirled like a tornado now lay among crumbled stone. Find the lost who dwells there. Set her free.”
- “Chocking on swamp gas. Ruined timber, mould, and splintered. Sinking moment by moment into bitter, bleak, mud. Find the name of the buried, set them free.”
Finn’s restless spirit location
Finn is the spirit in the southern point that Warren talks about.
Head to the above-marked location and you will find a cave.
Go near the cave’s entrance.
Use the Windstep Skill to jump to the platform.
Once you are at the cave’s entrance, you will find it blocked by vines.
If your Woodcutting Skill is not yet level 20 or above, you will get the message, “You need the Chop Vine perk to cut through this.”
You unlock the Chop Thorny Vines perk at level 20.
You can chop nearby trees to reach level 20. It is super easy and quick.
Once you are done, head inside the cave when it is night.
Talk to the restless spirit, and he will tell you his story and name. Which is Finn!
Lazina’s restless spirit location
Lazina is the spirit that Warren talks about when he says, “Blades that once whirled like a tornado now lay among crumbled stone. Find the lost who dwells there. Set her free.”
You can find her at the Windmill in the Temple Woods region.
Head to the above marked location.
Make your way to the windmill.
There, you will find Lazina’s Spirit near the cumbled house.
Talk to her and she will tell you her name.
Kay’s restless spirit location
The third and last spirit is found in the Whispering Swamp area at the above-marked location.
If you enter the swamp from the western path, stick to the right side, and you will arrive at the above location.
On the other hand, if you enter the swamp via the eastern path, you must stick to the left side.
You will find Kay at the dilapidated building. There are two Rats.
Take them out as they can inflict poison and can easily kill you.
Talk to Kay and exhaust his dialogues.
How to lay the restless spirits to rest in RuneScape Dragonwilds
You can lay the restless spirits to rest at the Remembrance Shrine that you can find right of the cathedral in the Temple Woods region.
Head to the above marked location.
Make your way to the right side of the cathedral where you spawn first time.
Interact with the Remembrance Shrine.
Select the names of the spirits to lay them to rest.
Once you lay all four spirits to rest, you will get unique dialogues.
Exhaust them! Doing so will complete the quest.
RuneScape Dragonwilds Restless Ghosts quest rewards
When you complete the Restless Ghosts quest, you can get two tomes as a reward. These are:
- Tome of Mining – Vol 1
- Tome of Cooking – Vol 1
You can learn these tomes from your inventory to increase Cooking and Mining levels.
