If you don’t know how to spawn the Lab Technician zombie to get the Floppy Disk in the Shattered Veil map in Black Ops 6 Zombies, this guide will come in handy.
Similar to the Groundskeeper in the Liberty Falls map, the Lab Technician is one of the named zombies in the Shattered Veil map that only spawns in a particular area.
The Lab Technician holds the Floppy Disk, one of the key items required for getting the Ray Gun Mark II and eventually progressing the Shattered Veil main quest.
However, just like the Groundskeeper, many players struggle to get the Floppy Disk, as they are unable to spawn the Lab Technician.
Seeing that, I prepared a detailed guide covering everything you need to know about how to spawn Lab Technician to get Floppy Disk in Shattered Veil in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

The Lab Technician named zombie spawns in the Mainframe Chamber area where you find S.A.M..
I have tested in multiple rounds and haven’t found the Lab Technician zombie spawning anywhere else.
How to reach Mainframe Chamber in Shattered Veil in Black Ops 6 Zombies
To reach the Mainframe Chamber in the Shattered Veil map, you need two key items, the Circuit Board and the Fuse.
Both of which you can get very easily, even in early rounds.
First of all, from the spawn location, follow the quest marker and make your way to the Colton Halls entrance located in the Upper Terrace area.
Once you arrive there, unlock the main gate of the mansion using Essence and head inside.
You will find yourself in the Grand Foyer, the room with the big dinosaur fossil.
Unlock the door on the right side and head inside.
Make your way to the above marked location to reach the Library area.
There, you will find a named zombie whom you can kill to get the Fuse.
Unlike the Lab Technician, the zombie carrying the Fuse has a guaranteed spawn at the marked location in the Library.
Now, make your way to the western part of the mansion via the backyard to the above marked location.
You will arrive at the Director’s Quarters.
On the left side of the big bed, shoot the terminal.
Doing so will drop the Circuit Board key item.
Now that you have both key items required to reach the Mainframe Chamber, head to the Banquet Hall area to find the lift leading to the said location.
I have marked its exact location in the above map screenshot.
Go behind the lift and hold the interact button near the open circuit.
Doing so will place the Circuit Board in it.
Now go in front of the lift and press the Elevator Call button to repair it.
Once you do that, head slightly back as a bunch of zombies will come out of the elevator.
Shoot them down and press the Elevator Button once again.
Grapple down!
You will finally find yourself in the Mainframe Chamber, where S.A.M. is located.
How to spawn the Lab Technician zombie in Black Ops 6 Zombies
To spawn the Lab Technician zombie, make sure you have visited the Security Overlook area within the Mainframe Chamber where you find the Pack-A-Punch machine.
Doing so will end the quest hints.
Now, stay in the Mainframe Chamber and take out the zombies.
The Lab Technician will eventually spawn around Round 10 or above.
I recommend not leaving the area as in one of my rounds, I ran all around the map and couldn’t find the Lab Technician.
And when I went to the Mainframe Chamber, the Lab Technician was waiting there. Already spawned.
How to get and use the Floppy Disk in the Shattered Veil map in Black Ops 6 Zombies
As mentioned earlier, you can get the Floppy Disk as a drop from the Lab Technician.
It is a 100% guaranteed drop.
Sometimes, the Lab Technician blends into the usual hordes, and you don’t realize you have already killed it.
That is why, keep checking the ground loot near the Mainframe Chamber to ensure you don’t miss the Floppy Disk.
That aside, when it comes to the Floppy Disk uses, you can use it on the computer found in the East Foyer to get the hint for the alphabet puzzle.
Head to the above marked location.
You will find the computer in the right corner of the room.
Go near the computer and interact with it.
Doing so will use the Floppy Disk and change the computer’s screen to red filled with texts.
As a result, the Fax left of the computer will start printing with a ton of bugs spawning in the area.
Survive!
Once the Project Janus page is all printed, interact with it to get the “protocol” codeword required for solving the alphabet puzzle.
