Back to the topic, as I said, most old and many new players are waiting for the game, and among them, we have players who are confused about whether Stalker 2 will be a single-player experience or a Multiplayer.
When you look at Stalker 2 Ultimate Edition rewards, you might have noticed “Multiplayer Cosmetics.”
But when you look at the game features on its official listing page, it shows “Singleplayer.”

Is Stalker 2 a multiplayer game?
While Stalker 2 is not technically a multiplayer game, it will feature Multiplayer modes like Team Deathmatch and a few others, just like its predecessors.
As confirmed by developer GSC Game World, the multiplayer mode for the game will not be present at launch and will be added later as a free update.
This is not our first time seeing single-player-focused experiences featuring Multiplayer modes.
A good example would be The Last of Us, which is a pure single-player experience with Multiplayer mode.
Will Stalker 2 have a co-op mode?
No! According to an old FAQ page for the game, which was later removed as part of the website’s redesign, GSC Game World confirmed that Stalker 2 is a solo experience and will not feature co-op play.
However, since that has now been removed, I would not be surprised to see a co-op mode added to Stalker 2 in future updates.
Since Stalker 2 has full official mod support, I am sure the experienced mod community will produce a co-op mod for the game.
Is there cross-play support in Stalker 2?
At the time of writing, GSC Game World has not confirmed that Stalker 2 has a cross-play feature.
That said, adding cross-play will depend heavily on how much of a Multiplayer game Stalker 2 becomes after its global launch.
If we do get more Multiplayer content, a cross-play between PC, Xbox, and later PS5 would be no surprise.
