If you are a console player eagerly waiting to play Stalker 2 on PS5 but don’t know whether it will even be released on the platform, I have some details and personal thoughts.
Stalker 2 is one of the most hyped-up games players have been waiting for a long time.
For players who don’t know, it is a first-person post-apocalyptic survival game with a non-linear story and a massive open world with a map size of over 60 square kilometers.
Whether it comes to visuals, gameplay, NPC behavior, or other aspects, Stalker 2 looks promising, at least for now.
While Xbox and PC players are preparing to play the game once it globally launches on November 20, 2024, PS5 players still have no official news on the Stalker 2 PS5 version.
But, I think PS5 players should not worry and instead wait. Here is why:
Will Stalker 2 release on PS5?
While there have been no official announcements from developers GSC Game World, there is a very high chance of Stalker 2 being released on the PS5 platform after the end of its timed exclusivity.
Stalker 2 is reportedly a timed exclusive game released on the Xbox and PC platforms.
As a result, the game also arrives on Gamepass on day one. However, that doesn’t mean it will not release on PS5.
Just like the predecessors, Stalker 2 will most likely get a PS5 release.
Now, as for the release date, I think it would be around three months to one year from its initial release.
During a recent interview with Bloomberg, when Phil Spencer was asked about the chances of the next Halo game coming to PlayStation, he said:
I do not see sort of red lines in our portfolio that say ‘thou must not’
Phil Spencer has always been adamant about releasing games on all platforms, even if they are exclusive.
Even Sony is somewhat taking the same but safer approach by releasing their first-party titles on PC.
Why am I talking about these things? Well! Because Stalker 2 is not a first-party game from either Sony or Microsoft.
Once its timed exclusivity ends, we might see a PS5 release, as there’s no way a developer would miss the opportunity to bring their game to a console that sold more than 65.5 Million units as of November 2024.
This is not coming from a SONY PONY OR AN XBOT! But that is just what I think.
