If you are also wondering what exactly happens if you beat the main boss, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, in Nioh 3’s prologue, I have the answer for you.

As you may already know, whether it is some of the Souls games or Soulslikes, there are certain bosses that you are not meant to defeat during the tutorial or prologue.

But if you do beat them, there are unique sequences and rewards and such things attached to it.

As a result, whenever we have a new soulslike game with a boss you are not meant to beat, players try to beat them to see the outcome.

The same is the case with Nioh 3.

And thankfully, some players did manage to beat the boss Tokugawa Kunimatsu during Nioh 3’s prologue. Here’s what happens after that:

What happens if you beat Tokugawa Kunimatsu during the prologue boss fight?

In Nioh 3, even if you manage to defeat Tokugawa Kunimatsu during the prologue, all you get is a slightly nuanced cutscene.

When you bring down the HP to zero, Kunimatsu will kneel and say, “My Patience is spent. It’s time to end this.”

After that, you can see him summoning his Yokai Guardian Spirit.

And, a few seconds later, he releases a shockwave attack that instantly defeats you, forcing the usual cutscene where Saito Fuku protects you.

Sadly, there is no reward or such thing that we see in similar boss battles in other soulslike games.

So what are your thoughts? Should there be a unique weapon or cosmetic reward, or such a thing? Or, you don’t care, as defeating Kunimatsu during the prologue takes a lot of patience and skill?
