Whether you are looking for details on how to start and complete The Capitol Anomaly Classified Assignment in The Division 2, the locations of all the ECHOs and audio logs, solutions to puzzles, the new Backpack trophy, and such, I’ve got you covered with my walkthrough guide.

The Division 2 Y8S1 Rise Up added a brand new Classified Assignment to the game called Library of Congress Retrieval, and now, the TUY8S1.2 update, which went live on May 12, has added another one, called The Capital Anomaly.

Just like any other Classified Assignment, completing it rewards players with a High End weapon, The Headline-grabber Light Machinegun in this case, and a unique Backpack Trophy along with Echoes for Lore Hunters.

That said, there are sections and puzzles that many players may get stuck at while clearing The Capitol Anomaly Classified Assignment.

For them, my walkthrough guide will be handy!

The Capitol Anomaly Classified Assignment location and how to access

First, head to the ‘Store.’

Navigate to the ‘Assignments’ tab.

In the Lost Agents tab under Assignments, you will find The Capitol Anomaly Classified Assignment.

Purchase it if you already don’t own it.

There, select Lost Agents > The Capitol Anomaly Classified Assignment.

Doing so will show the location of The Capitol Anomaly Classified Assignment. Now, exit out of the map.

On the right side, just before the door, at the player icon location above, you will find the Staff Call Audio Log.

Collect it.

Now go close to the door where the quest marker is showing.

Find the JTF generator

The door to the main offices is locked, and you must find the JTF Generator to unlock it.

Head to the center of the Atrium and take the round stairs leading to the first floor.

You will find the JTF Generator there.

Repair the JTF Generator

On the other side of the same floor, you will find the first small generator, right outside the Conference Room, from which you can obtain one of the three parts required to repair the JTF Generator.

Locate JTF personnel

The JTF member is inside the Conference Room. You can talk to her via the window.

The second small Generator is on the ground floor. Collect the second part.

Now, head back to the first floor.

From the bridge, shoot down the circuit board as marked in the above screenshot.

Now, follow the bridge leading to the Upper Offices room. The door should be accessible now.

Collect the third and final generator part.

Head back to the JTF Generator and interact with it to repair it.

Secure the Atrium

Defeat all the enemies.

Reach the Globe’s main offices

Head back to the locked door on the ground floor. It should be now accessible.

Rescue the Hostage

Once you are in the Capitol Globe main offices, follow the marked path.

Collect the Storage Room Access Code

Head inside the Meetings Room and interact with the cuboard to collect the Storage Room Access Code.

Trigger the Fire Alarm

Now follow the quest marker leading to the Fire Alarm on the first floor. You will find it engulfed in Toxic Gas.

Head near the stairs and you will find the generator.

Switch the Ventilation until the gas near the Fire Alarm is gone.

Note

Remember this generator’s location, as we will be returning here to unlock the Archive Room to collect the new Backpack Trophy and the Echo.

Now, interact with the fire alarm.

Secure the Offices

Defeat all the enemies. Now, before heading to the hostage, collect another Audio Log.

Follow the above marked path. It will lead you to the Who is your source? Audio Log.

Note

At this point, you can unlock the Storage Room, collect another Audio Log, and get the Server Access Key required for unlocking the Archive Room.

On the same note, you can also do the Archive Room puzzle. However, I did these at the end of the mission.

So for the sake of the walkthrough, I will just follow that route.

Return to the hostage

Follow the quest marker leading to the other side of the Conference Room.

Head inside it and talk to the hostage.

Free the hostage

Shoot at the padlock on the door to free the hostage.

Secure the Atrium

Defeat all enemies to secure the Atrium.

Shut down the Outcasts’ print operation

Pick up the Print Office access key

The final elite will drop the Print Office access key. Collect it.

Access the Print Office

Unlocking the Podcast Studio

Now, before you head to the Print Office, stick to the marked path from the Conference Room door, as shown in the screenshot above.

From the gas, shoot the circuit as marked.

Doing so will unlock the Podcast Studio room within the Conference Room.

Head inside and collect the Bye, Art Audio Log.

Now, follow the quest marker leading to the Print Room. Now, before heading to the room, first unlock the Storage Room.

Unlocking Storage Room

You can find the keypad for the Storage Room at the above-marked location in the Main Offices area.

Head to the above player icon location, and you will spot it. Interact with the keypad to unlock the door.

Shoot the padlock.

Now, go through the door leading to the Print Room. On the right side, you will find the door to Storage Room A.

Interact with it. You will be able to open it now.

Collecting Server memory module

Collect the Server Memory Module.

Collect the Sixty Seconds Audio Log.

Now follow the quest marker leading to the Print Room.

Destroy Printing Press

Destroy the pipes

Shoot the black pipes on the ceiling.

Turn off the coolant system

After that, head to the coolant system valve and turn it off.

Disable both emergency shut-off mechanisms

Now, head to any of the safety mechanisms and turn it off.

Within 30 seconds, make your way towards the other one. And turn it off too. If you fail, you must do it again.

Overload the printing press

Now head to the Control Room.

Interact with the control panel to overload the press.

In the same room, on the other side, you will find the final Audio Log, Shaw would be proud. Collect it.

Secure the Print Office

Defeat the enemies. Once Reed spawns, defeat her.

Collect The Headline-grabber Light Machinegun.

Now, before leaving the mission area, it’s time to unlock the Archive room and collect the Backpack Trophy and the Echo.

Unlocking the Archive Room

Head to the Main Offices area. Near the stairs on the ground floor that lead to the generator and the first floor, where you found the fire alarm, you will find the Server Room.

Head inside and use the keyboard.

Insert the memory module that you obtained from the Storage Room.

Now, take the stairs and head to the Generator.

Interact with the Generator until the gas in the room in the above screenshot is ventilated.

After that, head inside and interact with the Laptop.

Now go back to the Server Room.

Interact with the keyboard again.

This time. Interact with the Generator until the gas from Conference Suite B on the ground floor, right opposite the Server Room, has been ventilated.

After that, head inside and interact with the Laptop.

Once again, head back to the Server Room and interact with the keyboard.

Head back to the Generator and interact with it until the gas in Conference Suite C has been ventilated. The room is right next to the Generator.

Head inside the room and interact with the Laptop.

If done correctly, all the servers will be live.

Now head to the Archive Room.

You can find it at the above player icon location.

Collect the Mothman Trophy.

Interact with the Echo.

Leave the mission area

Follow the quest marker and leave the mission area.

And that is it. That completes my 100% walkthrough for The Capitol Anomaly Classified Assignment.
